Historia
Human history is full of the stories of peasants, subjects, and tribes. Yet the concept of the “citizen” is historically rare — and was among America’s most valued ideals for over two centuries. But without shock treatment, warns historian Victor Davis Hanson, American citizenship as we have known it may soon vanish.

VDH delivers again
Revisado: 04-07-22
If you are looking for an unvarnished look into the chaotic America we are living in then this is your book. Well constructed and easy to follow throughout. I do wish VDH had narrated but that isn't a significant enough issue for me to lower my ranking.

Mayberry delivers...again
Revisado: 10-02-21
I keep waiting for Mayberry to hit a wall but it hasn't happened yet. This was a masterpiece in my eyes. Hr combined everything from the previous books and unleashed it on us like a verbal plague. I keep thinking I'll move on to my other books but I just downloaded Predator One. He got me. Again.

Carr does it again...
Revisado: 12-01-20
I don't have the words to say how much I enjoyed this book. Numerous times I yelled not safe for work words and phrases aloud as I followed JR on his latest journey. I can't freaking wait for April and where this journey leads next. As a longtime Rapp/Flynn/Mills guy, I've been struggling to find a new character to really get into. Needless to say that is no longer an issue. Man that was GOOD.

Historia
On his last combat deployment, Lt. Cmdr. James Reece's entire team was killed in an ambush that also claimed the lives of the aircrew sent in to rescue them. But when those dearest to him are murdered on the day of his homecoming, Reece discovers that this was not an act of war by a foreign enemy but a conspiracy that runs to the highest levels of government. Now, with no family and free from the military's command structure, Reece applies the lessons that he's learned in over a decade of constant warfare toward revenge.

Must read!
Revisado: 11-14-20
I've been hunting for my next American BA while I wait for the next Rapp book. A buddy of mine turned me on to Terminal and I am stoked he did. The writing was crisp yet edgy. The story had good flow and had me consistently saying "one more chapter." If you are looking for a fun read this is your book. Onto Savage Son.

Historia
You've heard of the "Great Books"? These are their evil opposites. From Machiavelli's The Prince to Karl Marx's Communist Manifesto to Alfred Kinsey's Sexual Behavior in the Human Male, these "influential" books have led to war, genocide, totalitarian oppression, family breakdown, and disastrous social experiments. And yet these authors' bad ideas are still popular and pervasive. Here with the antidote is Professor Benjamin Wiker.

Fascinating book
Revisado: 09-03-20
I flew through this book and for good reason. The author does a thorough job of explaining why each of the selections did the world more hard than good using common sense and research. The book dives into the mind of some of the most quoted and researched authors in history. There are sections of the book that are not for the squeamish. If you enjoy history and want to get a better feel for why many of the world's greatest tragedies have occurred, this is your book.

Great book. With everything happening in our land (USA), I found the book especially eye opening and a stark reminder why I am conservative.
