Great narration, hero is the WORST
Revisado: 11-03-17
Susan Duerden is a great narrator, 5 stars to her.
Eloisa James is a great author but this fell way short for me. Our "hero", Alex, is an irredeemable jerk. We only get to HEA because our heroine is too nice. At the end, he says "You're too good for me. I don't deserve you." AGREED ON BOTH COUNTS.

quick, hot, over the top
Revisado: 07-20-17
I am of the belief that erotica should get to the point quickly, because we aren't here for a lot of back story (there are plenty of very spicy romances out there for that) and these stories do that quite well. I enjoyed the first more than the second, though that's probably because pregnancy is not my kink.
Narration was enjoyable and made this easy to listen to straight through.
I would have loved slightly more distinction between the male voices in each story. I'd also like for erotica writers to completely drop the phrase "her vagina clenched" from their list of phrases, but we can't have everything.
Overall, really enjoyable. If you are into quick, sizzling, over-the-top menage stories, this might be up your alley - er, alleys.
I recieved a free copy of this to review. This does not influence my opinions.

Fun, sexy NA!
Revisado: 07-19-17
Some NA is overly angsty and whiny, but never Cindi Madsen. This was fun, funny, and sexy! Lyla is so endearing and sweet. She and Beck are adorable together and I cheered for them the whole way through. Andi Arndt & Cooper North are wonderful narrators who made this an enjoyable binge-listen that I finished in an afternoon!

Perfect Office Romance!
Revisado: 01-04-17
Loved it! It was so funny, swoony, and sexy. Characters were relatable and interesting. The story even had a couple twists I didn't see coming.
Great narration! I wish her character voice for Brogan was a little more gravelly instead of whispery.
Can't wait for Zoe's story!

I love this book.
I tend to lean toward books with some sort of supernatural and/or magical element and this hit the spot. The characters are interesting, the storyline compelling - it made me want more.
Jennifer Ikeda is a brilliant narrator. She's got to have a giant excel sheet of voices in order to keep all these characters straight, but she does a wonderful job. I'll be looking out for more from her.

Good enough to convince me to continue the series
Revisado: 01-12-16
This audiobook was so frustrating! It's supposed to be, of course, but about half way through I was just really sick of not knowing what was going on at all. The big reveal seems to come a little too late and a little too prepackaged for me. However, the characters are interesting - even the ones I hated - and my interest is piqued enough to keep going with the series.
The narrator was fine, but not my favourite. His character voices were really excellent, but I didn't enjoy his narration of the story -the non-speaking parts.

Historia
Bringing the magic and suspense of the All Souls Trilogy to a deeply satisfying conclusion, this highly anticipated finale went straight to number one on the New York Times best seller list. In The Book of Life, Diana and Matthew time-travel back from Elizabethan London to make a dramatic return to the present - facing new crises and old enemies. At Matthew’s ancestral home, Sept-Tours, they reunite with the beloved cast of characters from A Discovery of Witches - with one significant exception.

A fine, though not spectacular, end to the series.
Revisado: 12-17-15
** spoiler alert ** The whole All Souls trilogy was really enjoyable and this was a fine, though not spectacular, end. Like many trilogies, this one was a bit of a let down after the first two. Everything was a bit too happily ever after for me.
The drama surrounding Diana, Matthew, and the Book of Life was not as exciting as it was in the two books prior, but still pretty thrilling.
Jennifer Ikeda narrated the audiobook quite well. The cast of characters was huge she managed to give them all distinct voices. Even characters with similar voices (Gallowglass and Hammich are both Scottish and male, but they had their own unique voices) stood apart from one another. I'll look for more narrated by her.
SPOILERS HERE: Our 'bad guys" come to satisfying ends. But for this epic battle between powerful creatures, it seemed kind of lazy that the only deaths were the ones we readers wanted. I would have appreciated a bit more risk-taking from Deborah Harkness in terms of who was left standing at the end. The cast of characters in these novels is huge, all of whom are in grave danger throughout the book, yet they all make it out unscathed. Throughout the book the characters know someone is reporting their moves back to Benjamin and I kept waiting for one of the characters I loved to be a backstabber. Throughout the whole series, Diana is able to win over nearly every one who is biased against witches with ease. It seemed like a logical plot to have one of those faking it to learn her secrets. Nope. Still a big happy family. The Book of Life could have taken some risks and broken a few hearts.

Historia
This is the story of legendary record producer Rick Hall and his historic role in the development of the world-famous "Muscle Shoals sound". Rick Hall made music history when he founded FAME Recording Studios, the first professional recording studio in the entire state of Alabama. After producing and engineering the area's first national hit on Arthur Alexander's Southern soul classic "You Better Move On", Rick went on to earn international fame and eventually a Grammy for a lifetime of achievements.

Wow!
Revisado: 11-16-15
It is just amazing how many incredible songs were produced by Rick Hall and recorded at Fame Studio. I watched the Man from Muscle Shoals documentary when it was on Netflix and wanted to learn more about Rick Hall. His story is incredible - a true rags to riches story that influenced some of the greatest music in American history.
Rick Hall reads the first chapter (I think it was actually recorded at Fame Studio, too). It was really neat to hear him read that part of his story, but the narrator for the rest of the book - Jeremy Arthur - was really great, too.
I recommend this book to anyone who cares about music, the music industry, or just enjoys a good biography.

Any additional comments?
My friend recommended this to me with the promise that it would make me cry. It didn't, so that was disappointing. The story is solid, but slow. It's conclusion is more of a slow unraveling of layers instead of a real climax. Overall it was a good story, but it didn't break my heart.

Historia
Six days ago, astronaut Mark Watney became one of the first people to walk on Mars. Now, he's sure he'll be the first person to die there. After a dust storm nearly kills him and forces his crew to evacuate while thinking him dead, Mark finds himself stranded and completely alone with no way to even signal Earth that he's alive - and even if he could get word out, his supplies would be gone long before a rescue could arrive. Chances are, though, he won't have time to starve to death. The damaged machinery, unforgiving environment, or plainold "human error" are much more likely to kill him first.

Not Overrated
Revisado: 10-15-15
Would you consider the audio edition of The Martian to be better than the print version?
I haven't read the print, but I feel confident saying yes. R.C. Bray's performance was incredible.
What does R. C. Bray bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?
His performance really captured both the desperation and the humor of the story.
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
Yes. Every time I had to stop was infuriating.
