This book was recommended to me through a lifestyle management course run by my healthcare system. They talked about how making small changes can have a big effect. So I change one thing and it actually did make a difference and so I thought there must be more that I could do that would make my life even better and so I went ahead and purchased this book the audio version And I can safely say that it has changed my life for the better and it’s not that I made significant changes. They were all little teeny tiny things that just make my life so much better.

James reads this book to you in a way that is easy to understand, and he often references things that are on his website, which was easy to access and easy to download the documents to help you get along if you buy the audio version. Not only that buying the audio version I was able to sign up for the newsletter and I get updates once a week nothing too much in my mailbox that help keep me on the straight and narrow, although to be honest, using some of his tips and tricks is not even hard to keep on the straighten narrow.

Did I have the speed turned up?

Nope. This guy must talk fast. The information provided was good information and he was certainly enthusiastic. But the speed of the delivery and lack of breathing room made it uncomfortable to listen to for any length of time.

What was I thinking!

In an effort to fill in some gaps in my literary education I elected to listen to this classic title. The performances were fine. Nothing against that but the story, yuck! Kathy was winey Heathcliff a bore and the rest of the characters well I don't even remember them. I imagine the difference in how we perceive things today and how they did in this time id a contributing factor. If you're thinking about this title, don't.

Katherine Borowitz has won me over

I was bummed when I first heard Katherine Borowitz but now with three books under my belt I have learned to enjoy her differences and voices that she has.

Made me think...

Really enjoyed this book! I like Kathy's writing in general but found this story keeping me wanting more. I read one comment that it was too much like a scientific lecture, and I can see where some might find that the details of miocondral dna a bit tedious but I found it fascinating. Well worth your time.

Famous people are a mess too

This is a great book to listen to when you think your life is just not going the way you want and you are not sure what to do...its good to know I'm not alone. That even famous people have the same wierd frutstrating anxious anoying and liberating life that I do. A good read - won't solve the national debt or cure cancer, but it will help you forget for a while.

Need to Read the Auabridged

When I purchased this I didn't realize it was abridged - I listened to it and while the story was progressing it felt like I was missing many of the traditional Julie Garwood touches in her books. I'm going to read the book which comes out in paperback Tuesday and will then write a more indepth review - for now, I'd skip this version and get it unabridged if available.

Thinking about The Help

I succumbed to pressure and purchase The Help and was pleasantly surprised at how the story grabbed me and pulled me in. The story flowed and it was difficult at the end of my drive to and from work to stop listening. I was really pleased that they recorded it with different voices for the various characters; that helped keep the story straight. I was sad when it ended, and I wanted some of the characters to get their due, but sometimes folks get away with being bad.
I was able to find parallels in our life of today; it made me think of how we treat those who serve us, waiters and waitresses, hotel maids, the guy who mows the lawn and car salesmen. When a book makes you think about how you treat others, that’s a good thing.
If you’re on the fence about this book like I was, go ahead and jump, you'll be glad you did.

Steamy

The story was good, I found myself a bit frustrated with the characters; as with many romance novels they come off as a tad dumb. I guess we can chalk it up to blind love. If you looking for a distracting, simple and yet steamy book, this one will fit the bill.
