Historia
How can we make intelligent decisions about our increasingly technology-driven lives if we don’t understand the difference between the myths of pseudoscience and the testable hypotheses of science? Pulitzer Prize-winning author and distinguished astronomer Carl Sagan argues that scientific thinking is critical not only to the pursuit of truth but to the very well-being of our democratic institutions.

Cannot get used to Cary Elwes Voice
Revisado: 11-25-17
With a well known person such as Carl Sagen, it is really tough to get over hearing his words out of a British accent, it just does not sound right, and I find it distracting.

Historia
Daemon is firmly in control, using an expanded network of real-world, dispossessed darknet operatives to tear apart civilization and rebuild it anew. Soon civil war breaks out in the American Midwest, in a brutal wave of violence that becomes known as the Corn Rebellion. Former detective Pete Sebeck, now the Daemon's most powerful - though reluctant - operative, must lead a small band of enlightened humans toward a populist movement designed to protect the new world order. But the private armies of global business are preparing to crush the Daemon once and for all.

What made the experience of listening to Freedom (TM) the most enjoyable?
Jeff Gurner is an amazing narrator, he is easy to understand and his voice inflexions are appropriate. His voice is well suited for this performance
Did the plot keep you on the edge of your seat? How?
At times it is a bit predictable, you know someone is going to show up and save the day, but you don't always know who or how. Daemon was a better book,

Historia
The Pacific Crest National Scenic Trail (PCT )is the perfect place for an average person to do something extraordinary. Bill Walker ("Skywalker"), who stands 6'11", might seem like anything but average. Yet in a brutally honest tone, he lays to bare all his considerable weaknesses and fears. Among these are crushing weight loss and fatigue, along with a fear of getting lost or a bear stealing his food. Nonetheless, he is bound and determined to hike the PCT which - at 2,663 miles - runs all the way from Mexico to Canada.

Good Story, but Narration is weird
Revisado: 06-16-17
Is there anything you would change about this book?
Dialog seems a little clunky, no one talks like this in real life.
Any additional comments?
The narration is weird.

Early one May, Sam Neumann arrived in the breathtaking wilderness of Denali, Alaska with a smile on his face and adventure in his heart. But less than 24 hours later, both had evaporated as he stood behind the counter of a filthy gas station - his new place of employment - and tried to piece together what exactly had gone wrong.

Funny and intersting

Any additional comments?
This is a great book, it is funny, realistic, and slightly educational. His adventure working in Alaska reflects the trials and tribulations of working as a seasonal worker in Alaska. The narrator does a great job and is easy to listen to.
If you are thinking about getting this book, you should, you will not regret it.

Historia
Harry Potter has never even heard of Hogwarts when the letters start dropping on the doormat at number four, Privet Drive. Addressed in green ink on yellowish parchment with a purple seal, they are swiftly confiscated by his grisly aunt and uncle. Then, on Harry's eleventh birthday, a great beetle-eyed giant of a man called Rubeus Hagrid bursts in with some astonishing news: Harry Potter is a wizard, and he has a place at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. An incredible adventure is about to begin!

Same great story, but I'm not a fan of Stephen Fry
Revisado: 02-18-16
Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
Of course, Harry Potter is an amazing story, but I would recommend Stephen Fry's narration
What did you like best about this story?
Because it is Harry Potter, and I am a big fan.
What aspect of Jim Dale’s performance would you have changed?
Jim Dale did not do a bad job, but I could not stand how winey he made Hermione sound. I know McGonagall is from Scotland but I could not get used to the accent. Hagrid accent just seemed off. It could be that I am used to Stephen Fry's voices but it just seemed off.
Any additional comments?
If you want to hear the story of harry potter, and you can only get the audiobook here, it is worth it.

Historia
In the best-selling tradition of Bill Bryson and Tony Horwitz, Rinker Buck's The Oregon Trail is a major work of participatory history: an epic account of traveling the entire 2,000-mile length of the Oregon Trail the old-fashioned way, in a covered wagon with a team of mules - which hasn't been done in a century - that also tells the rich history of the trail, the people who made the migration, and its significance to the country.

Great story, funny, and dramatic at the right time
Revisado: 02-17-16
What made the experience of listening to The Oregon Trail the most enjoyable?
Book was narrated by the author, the inflections seem well placed and really add to the story
What did you like best about this story?
This story covers historical facts of what it was like to travel on the trail back in the day as well as overlays it with modern day challenges.
Although Rinker and his brother Nick traveled in the modern day and could take advantage of some modern conveniences, they also faced challenges of roaming the country in the day of interstates and gates
Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
Yes, while explaining why mules are so important to early america Buck made a joke which was amplified by the current events of the 2016 presidential race. This was of course not necessarily intended, but very effective for the time.
