Marvellous sci-fi thriller
Revisado: 06-14-18
I am really pleased with this series. As a South African, the book hit very close to home for me and I enjoyed the vernacular and the pronunciation of the narrator tremendously. The first book feels like a thriller with the sci-fi components being incidental, but the dystopian outlook and futuristic science becomes more and more important as the series progresses. I really cannot praise this series of books enough. It's really tremendously well-written and imagined. The only criticism that I have is that the narrator doesn't have a great many voices, but I can forgive that with how well she did otherwise. I will be keeping an eye on JT Lawrence and I believe that I have found a new author that I know I will enjoy. Please note that this book was given to me for free at my request and I provided this voluntary review, however I would not have changed a single word of my review if I had paid for it. Thank you for an enjoyable ride, author.

interesting book ruined by a minor detail
Revisado: 04-29-18
I received this book free in exchange for a fair review. I enjoyed the book write a bit and the narration is top notch. The story and characters are all interesting and the progression of the book is a nice surprise, as it initially seems a very simple story and develops in an interesting way.
The criticism that I have is that there is about 30 minutes missing at the end of book 2, so for me, book 3 started without any of the details of what happened at the end of book 2. I struggled to get back into the book after this, feeling somewhat lost. When checking the single books' times, there does seem to be a list haal an hour or so in the boxed set. Thankfully this is probably fixable.

Really good, memorable book after a slow start
Revisado: 04-15-18
What did you love best about Kushiel's Dart?
The characters were rich. The story, although pretty simple is really enjoyable. And I generally prefer first-person narrated books.
What other book might you compare Kushiel's Dart to and why?
Nothing really similar.
What about Anne Flosnik’s performance did you like?
She is fantastic. Her accents brought the story to life.
If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?
I can’t think of a thing.
Any additional comments?
I didn’t like the book much for the first half of the story. It felt like a typical romance novel with lots of sex. The book seemed to change about halfway through and become a lot more interesting. If you struggle with the book, I’d suggest that you just keep going. For me it was worth it.

Marvellous conclusion to an epic series
Revisado: 05-29-17
If you could sum up Last Argument of Kings in three words, what would they be?
Epic rich storytelling
What did you like best about this story?
The characters and their personalities are consistant throughout. The story felt real and I enjoyed the concluding chapter to the series greatly.
What about Steven Pacey’s performance did you like?
His voices are superb. I could tell who was speaking merely by hearing the voice, rather than having him say the name. Steven Pacey is probably the best narrator I've heard yet.
Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
I'm not prone to extreme reactions, but it did do both. There's some sad moments in the book as well as really funny ones.
Any additional comments?
Fantastic book. I felt the ending was great, and I like an ending that seems like the opening for another book.
