Historia
With courage, grace, and powerful insight, bestselling author Kristin Hannah captures the epic panorama of World War II and illuminates an intimate part of history seldom seen: the women's war. The Nightingale tells the stories of two sisters, separated by years and experience, by ideals, passion and circumstance, each embarking on her own dangerous path toward survival, love, and freedom in German-occupied, war-torn France—a heartbreakingly beautiful novel that celebrates the resilience of the human spirit and the durability of women. It is a novel for everyone, a novel for a lifetime.

Historia
Elsa is seven years old and different. Her grandmother is 77 years old and crazy, standing-on-the-balcony-firing-paintball-guns-at-men-who-want-to-talk-about-Jesus crazy. She is also Elsa's best and only friend. At night Elsa takes refuge in her grandmother's stories, in the Land of Almost-Awake and the Kingdom of Miamas, where everybody is different and nobody needs to be normal.

Phenomenal
Revisado: 12-29-17
I lost my grandmother two years ago and every page tugged at my heartstrings. I laughed, grinned, teared up, swallowed lumps in my throat, and enjoyed every second of it.

Historia
Meet Ove. He's a curmudgeon - the kind of man who points at people he dislikes as if they were burglars caught outside his bedroom window. He has staunch principles, strict routines, and a short fuse. People call him "the bitter neighbor from hell". But behind the cranky exterior there is a story and a sadness.

Soul food

I consider this book one of the ones that you read/listen to and then think about life a little more. You learn a lot from reflecting, and after this, that's all I want to be doing. It was a pleasant listen that left me never wanting to turn it off. I bought the physical copy and plan to have all my friends read it and my children when they get big enough to really understand it. ❤️

Historia
At seven minutes past midnight, thirteen-year-old Conor wakes to find a monster outside his bedroom window. But it isn’t the monster Conor’s been expecting - he’s been expecting the one from his nightmare, the nightmare he’s had nearly every night since his mother started her treatments. The monster in his backyard is different. It’s ancient. And wild. And it wants something from Conor. Something terrible and dangerous. It wants the truth.

Absolutely enthralling!
Revisado: 08-23-17
I stated this off as a background book for while I cleaned, etc. it very quickly developed into something much more. I was completely encapsulated by the entire idea of the monster. The scene where the third story is told was one of my favorite moments in the entire book. There are a thousand quotes I could take from this book and put on my wall to always remember. This narrator is absolutely amazing and did such a phenomenal job! I'll be shopping around for books this narrator has recorded.
