Historia
You've lost your daughter. She's addicted to drugs and to an abusive boyfriend. And she's made it clear that she doesn't want to be found. Then, by chance, you see her playing guitar in Central Park. But she's not the girl you remember. This woman is living on the edge, frightened, and clearly in trouble. You don't stop to think. You approach her, beg her to come home. She runs.

This is the legend of Hafid, a camel boy 2,000 years ago, and his burning desire to improve his lowly position in life, as told to his apprentice Erasmus. Hafid relates the story of how he became known as the Greatest Salesman in the World. His success lies in the wisdom of ten leather scrolls passed down to him from his master, Pathros.

Worth EVERY second of the 2 hours and 19 minutes!!
Revisado: 06-20-13
Would you listen to The Greatest Salesman in the World again? Why?
Yes, I bookmarked each scroll and listen to the same scroll daily for 21 days, then I move on to the next scroll. Og Mandino struggled with depression and even contemplated suicide. It's truly inspiring that he can overcome his personal issues and create this masterpiece that inspires others to be THE GREATEST SALESMAN IN THE WORLD!
What did you like best about this story?
I like that the book, whether intentional or unintentional, metaphorically relates people to salesmen. The scrolls help the main character learn the secret of being a good salesman, but in reality, they apply to all aspects of life. I love when an author is able to teach valuable, life-long lessons through stories rather than pounding lesson after lesson in our heads. Additionally, I love that the scrolls are in first person. It's crazy but being able to hear the words in first person helps when your brain triggers the memory of those words.
What does Og Mandino bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?
While his voice is a bit hard to listen to, I was able to overcome it knowing his past. With Mandino narrating, I was able to truly feel the power of his words and feel it would have been lacking by another narrator.
What did you learn from The Greatest Salesman in the World that you would use in your daily life?
The most important lesson I learned is that it's never too late. In life, many things happen outside of our control and that can be incredibly frustrating. However, it's what we choose to do with these outside forces that make or break our success. Through the scrolls, I learned that everything is relative; along with beauty, happiness and success are in the eye of the beholder. The only person who can make you be the greatest salesman (person) in the world is you. The only person stopping you from being the greatest salesman (person) in the world is you. And how? Through habit. "In truth, the only difference between those who have failed and those who have succeeded lies in the differences of their habits. Good habits are the key to all success."

Historia
There are some odd things about Nate’s new apartment. Of course, he has other things on his mind. He hates his job. He has no money in the bank. No girlfriend. No plans for the future. So while his new home isn’t perfect, it’s livable. The rent is low, the property managers are friendly, and the odd little mysteries don’t nag at him too much. At least, not until he meets Mandy, his neighbor across the hall, and notices something unusual about her apartment. And Xela’s apartment. And Tim’s. And Veek’s.

Definitely different
Revisado: 06-20-13
Where does 14 rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?
I'm very into Sci-fi and decided to give this book a try. I was engaged throughout the entire novel. It's not in my top 10 favorite audiobooks but definitely worth listening to. The story slowly goes from a normal to sci-fi. The normal part of the book seemed a bit unrealistic but perhaps it was necessary to foreshadow what's to come.
What did you like best about this story?
The aspect of surprise. For the first half of the book I continued to make different theories and they continued to be false.
Which character – as performed by Ray Porter – was your favorite?
Definitely the main character.
If you were to make a film of this book, what would be the tag line be?
How far would you go to unlock a secret?

Easiest way to make a change
Revisado: 06-20-13
Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
Absolutely! It will help anyone think positively by using affirmations (statements) in first person. I recommend listening to this for 10 consecutive days before bed, even if you do not think it's working. While you listen, pretend it works. Pretend the magic of meditation is real. If after 10 days you do not feel a change about you, then you have my permission to give up. Odds are, not only will you notice a POSITIVE change within yourself, but others around you will too.
What was one of the most memorable moments of Learn How to Think Positively?
I listen to this before bed for the breathing techniques to help me fall asleep. Most the time, I fall asleep before it's over but the positive thoughts and ideas Glenn presents stay with me the following day. The subconscious mind is an amazing thing :)
What about Glenn Harrold’s performance did you like?
Glenn's voice is soothing and gentle. His accent helps ease the meditation process.I feel as if he is sitting next to me using magic to alter my thoughts.I have almost all Glenn Harrold's meditations and this one is my absolute FAVORITE. I can't imagine my life without him :)

Very Real and Inspiring
Revisado: 09-25-12
What made the experience of listening to The Traveler's Gift the most enjoyable?
I liked having the author read it. I feel that gave it more importance and made me understand exactly the point he was trying to make.
Who was your favorite character and why?
David Ponder learns many lessons throughout the book. I think he is attempting to be the "Average Joe" but at some points he comes off as being immature and ignorant. But, in the end he learns the lessons he is intended to and redeems himself.
What about Andy Andrews’s performance did you like?
He put EVERYTHING into perspective. So often we forget about problems of the past because we get caught up in our daily life. The past is there to provide lessons that can, in fact, be very helpful for today's world.
Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
This book gave me the chills the entire time I read it. It struck an emotion within me that I had no idea I had. Andy Andrews gave me a gift of wisdom, perspective, and most importantly, clear examples. After reading the book, I researched all 7 people David Ponder met. Each person had an amazing and TRUE story that serves as an example.
