The reader is irritating. I had a very hard time listening beyond chapter 1. Came back to the book several times only to ignore it again and again. Not a fan of the reader.

Curse worse replace intelligence halfway through.

Stopped listening to it. It had some good stories, but the language got in the way of what could have otherwise been a good book. It’s said that curse words are a sign of a weak mind, unable to express itself through intelligent means. Sadly that’s what this book became to me. I’m sure there are some who this won’t bother and others who won’t notice the lack of intellectual effort that went into this book, but for me it became boring and not worth my time to listen to. If you’re going to use foul language it ought to have a reason. When it becomes your go to adjective you are doomed to sound low class and unintelligent.

It's nice to have a list of the most common words to be able to see what gaps I have in my Chinese, However this lady is hard to listen to. Most of the time her Chinese is decent, but she pronounces things like 她 with a Pa sound instead of a Ta sound. And it's quite irritating that she cannot pronounce T's correctly in her own language.

Definitely worth listening to.

Took a chapter or two to really get into it, but overall it was great. I often don’t finish books - so the fact that I did says something. The story is really what keeps you around. The voice actor was just ok. There were times he was annoying, but for the most part you were focused on the story and not him, which is the goal. Not quite the Martian, but really really good.

great beginning and great end. got slow in a couple chapters 3 quarters of the way through, but I'm glad I came back and finished the book. will likely buy the 2nd book. I just wish there wasn't the F word randomly put into it. It isn't a lot, but its enough I won't let my kids listen.
