Historia
At an exclusive school somewhere outside of Arlington, Virginia, students aren't taught history, geography, or mathematics - at least not in the usual ways. Instead, they are taught to persuade. Here the art of coercion has been raised to a science. Students harness the hidden power of language to manipulate the mind and learn to break down individuals by psychographic markers in order to take control of their thoughts. The very best will graduate as "poets": adept wielders of language who belong to a nameless organization that is as influential as it is secretive.

Would you listen to Lexicon again? Why?
I dont listen to many fiction books twice so probably not.
What was one of the most memorable moments of Lexicon?
There were many , the author keeps you on your toes and you get so wrapped up in the story you just go with it .
What about Heather Corrigan and Zach Appelman ’s performance did you like?
It took me a while to get used to the Aussie accents because I've lived there before so was probably a harsh critic. But the narrators were incredible in their own rights so I'm glad I persisted with the story.
If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?
What are the consequences of your words .. How do they affect others?
Any additional comments?
This is an action packed thriller with lots of thought in the premise and plot , loved how it was simply yet effectively written, pace was good and many parts made you think.Pure entertainment -worth a credit if you like fast paced thrillers .

Historia
When Hetty Longden, freshly dumped and brokenhearted, agrees to look after her greatuncle’s dilapidated mansion in the English countryside, she’s at something of a lifetime low. With no job, no lover, no prospects, and no particular talent for resuscitating crumbling estates, she hopes for nothing more than some good oldfashioned escape.

Would you listen to Stately Pursuits again? Why?
It's the kind of story that I would only listen to once but a fun listen.
What did you like best about this story?
The story is light yet interesting enough to keep you listening. The story plus narration made it worthwhile
What did you like about the performance? What did you dislike?
It took couple of minutes to get into the way the narrator spoke/ read but soon as I heard all the different voices I understood her better and really appreciated at the end.
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
no little bites as escape was good

Historia
Why we think it’s a great listen: An all-time Audible favorite that mixes historic fiction, adventure, and romance with one of the most fascinating literary devices: time travel. Outlander introduces an exhilarating world of heroism and breathtaking thrills as one woman is torn between past and present, passion and love. In 1945, former combat nurse Claire Randall returns from World War II and joins her husband for a second honeymoon. But their blissful reunion is shattered....

Just like the first time I read this book...
Revisado: 07-09-13
Would you listen to Outlander again? Why?
Yes but I guess I would wait a while to make it more enticing. It is a wonderful performance. It is amazing how accurate Davina Porter gets all the mens voices.
Who was your favorite character and why?
For sheer force of performance I would have to choose Jamie. The accent is awesome and the nuances made me feel I knew what he was indeed thinking.
Which scene was your favorite?
Loads of scenes were great but I particularly enjoyed the initial scenes where Claire meets the Highlanders and helps Jamie with the dislocated shoulder. Those early scenes are precious as they set the scene for the whole story..
Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
Many but too many to list!
Any additional comments?
Highly recommend that listeners or readers choose this book first as it is the very beginning of the whole sage and you learn so much about the characters.I gave this performance 5 stars for everything because the performance balances the wonderful story teller abilities of Diana Gabaldon. The detail is amazing . One of my favourites I can come back to ..
