Historia
On a sunny morning in May 1939, a phalanx of 867 women - housewives, doctors, opera singers, politicians, prostitutes - was marched through the woods 50 miles north of Berlin, driven on past a shining lake, then herded in through giant gates. Whipping and kicking them were scores of German women guards. Their destination was Ravensbrück, a concentration camp designed specifically for women by Heinrich Himmler, prime architect of the Holocaust.

LOVED THIS!
Revisado: 12-02-22
This book really surprised me. It's such a well-written story. Natalie definitely mastered the English language, especially since it was not her main tongue. At times I laughed out loud to her wonderful sense of humor, at other times was saddened by the tragedy she has survived. Yet she didn't dwell on the sadness. She moved on to a different topic, constantly keeping my interest.

Historia
We know intuitively, deep in our bones, that the best life is a life where our words and our deeds count for something greater than ourselves. Our hearts quicken when we hear a rousing call to action, when we see someone taking a hill that must be taken. We know that doing and saying nothing is beneath us - that our words and deeds can be the best things about us. Words and Deeds is an integrity-pulse check packed with inspiring war stories. It offers a way of gauging the strength of our integrity and a path toward growing in courage.

Man of Integrity
Revisado: 06-06-22
I had the distinct privilege of needing Charles when he was still in elementary school. Since I was a friend of two of his older siblings, I was in their home many times. Charles has always seemed to me, even as a child, that he was a young man of integrity. He was definitely cut from the same loth as his incredible father! The fruit that I have seen from Charles's adult life brings me to the conclusion that he is still a man of integrity. I have enjoyed reading every one of his books and I believe you will glean much from this one as well. It has the potential to change lives if the person is so inclined.

Historia
Prosecuted but Not Silenced is a powerful documentary about a mother and daughter's tragic involvement with the judicial system when there were allegations of child sexual abuse, a human rights and civil rights issue for women and children. It is an important educational tool for judges, lawyers, social workers, therapists, politicians, and the general public so that people realize what still occurs today.

WOW!!!!!!!
Revisado: 07-14-21
I was prepared for an incredible story, but unprepared for the level of corruption in our courts! Years and years and years the author and her daughter were subjected to trauma as a result of domestic-violence uneducated, "educated" people such as judges, attorneys, Social Services, Etc. This has got to change! Maralee has done an amazing job at documentation in this incredible book.
I commend you highly, Maralee, for having sustained your fight through these long years. Also, I love the work you are doing to help fight for victims across our country in attempts to raise awareness and see laws changed. What was done to you and your daughter is completely unconscionable! My congratulations to you and your daughter for having survived! May the remainder of your lives be simply an untangling of the mess that was created by red tape, and full of increasing amounts of peace and healing from all the trauma in your past!
