love every JD Kirk
Revisado: 07-15-24
I love Bob and the entire bunch. As soon a JD Kirk book releases I have to get it. This book, as all the rest in the series, had me laughing out loud and wanting to both finish it in a day, but also make it last as long as passible.

Historia
When a K9 search-and-rescue team discovers a woman's body tangled up with debris in the river, Scotland Yard superintendent Duncan Kincaid finds himself heading an investigation fraught with complications. The victim, Rebecca Meredith, was a talented but difficult woman with many admirers - and just as many enemies. An Olympic contender on the verge of a controversial comeback, she was also a high-ranking detective with the Met - a fact that raises a host of political and ethical issues in an already sensitive case.

Historia
McCormack has returned to Glasgow after a stint with the Metropolitan Police in London. The reason for his return is left a lurking mystery throughout. He is investigating a series of murders that seem at first to be the result of random bouts of violence among Glasgow's poor and destitute. McCormack, however, has insight into Glasgow's underground that many of his colleagues don't. He has a secret of his own that he guards carefully but that takes him places and introduces him to people that prove essential to his investigations.

different than others in series
Revisado: 12-24-23
I enjoyed this book, it is more a familial background for the main character with a crime/ police procedural included. I did enjoy the previous two in the series better, but this book won't stop me from proceeding to the fourth in the series.

Historia
Criminologist Martin Knight lives a gilded life and is a thorn in the side of the police. But then his wife, Liz, goes missing. There is no good explanation and no sign of Martin.... To make things worse, Liz is the ex-girlfriend of DCI Craig Gillard who is drawn into the investigation. Is it just a missing person or something worse? And what relevance do the events around the shocking Girl F case, so taken up by Knight, have to do with the present? The truth is darker than you could ever have imagined.

Love this series
Revisado: 03-23-23
The best series there is. After the first book it gets better and better. The characters are great, the relationships they have with one another really is how it goes in a police unit. This series is more about the teams relationships than the actual crime. Hate when the book comes to an end and I have to wait for the next one to be released.

OK story, horrible narrator

The narration was the worst I ever listened to. Parts of the narration sounds computer generated. Other parts that were conversations were better.
