Historia
Alice Wright marries handsome American Bennett Van Cleve hoping to escape her stifling life in England. But small-town Kentucky quickly proves equally claustrophobic, especially living alongside her overbearing father-in-law. So, when a call goes out for a team of women to deliver books as part of Eleanor Roosevelt’s new traveling library, Alice signs on enthusiastically. The leader, and soon Alice's greatest ally, is Margery, a smart-talking, self-sufficient woman who's never asked a man's permission for anything.

It’s a classic but not my favorite
Revisado: 12-09-18
I found it hard to finish. I did stick with it hoping it would get better, but it didn’t. It was long and boring in many places. Some of the characters were interesting but not enough to make the draggy parts worthwhile. But now I can say that I read Tolstoy!

On November 22, 1963, three shots rang out in Dallas, President Kennedy died, and the world changed. What if you could change it back? In this brilliantly conceived tour de force, Stephen King - who has absorbed the social, political, and popular culture of his generation more imaginatively and thoroughly than any other writer - takes listeners on an incredible journey into the past and the possibility of altering it.

Historia
With courage, grace, and powerful insight, bestselling author Kristin Hannah captures the epic panorama of World War II and illuminates an intimate part of history seldom seen: the women's war. The Nightingale tells the stories of two sisters, separated by years and experience, by ideals, passion and circumstance, each embarking on her own dangerous path toward survival, love, and freedom in German-occupied, war-torn France—a heartbreakingly beautiful novel that celebrates the resilience of the human spirit and the durability of women. It is a novel for everyone, a novel for a lifetime.

This was an excellent book, well written and well narrated, invoking tears in many places. I loved the characters. It is a painful story and I kept asking myself how a human being can do such things to another human being. Definitely recommend it but it’s not all sunshine and unicorns.

Revisado: 04-26-18
I totally enjoyed this book. The narrator did an excellent job and made a good story even better. I was always disappointed when I had to walk away from the book for awhile and was anxious to return to the story. I liked the characters and even didn’t mind some parts that were a little far-fetched. This should be a movie if it isn’t already!

Revisado: 11-07-16
I liked everything about this book. The narration was excellent and the story was interesting and kept my attention. I liked the characters -- they were very well developed and I felt like I "knew" them. Some of the events were a little shocking and I truly hope it was never this bad, but suspect that it was.... Highly recommend this book!
