So much better
Revisado: 05-08-24
Much better story
Main character wasn’t being stupid
Cops weren’t being portrayed as idiots
Different ending then authors other books though still didn’t type up all loose ends (ie: what was the connection between abductees, how did sonny get abducted and why, who hired the thugs etc). Maybe I missed a chapter. I don’t really care for narrator. Voices run together at times and you have to figure out who is speaking, and her grammar is to punctuated throughout all characters .
Still though I really enjoyed the book

Historia
Contented employees make for a successful restaurant, which is why the County Seat's crew goes on a quarterly out-of-office meeting. This time, the location is the Old Idaho Penitentiary near the Boise Foothills, a prison brimming with ghostly lore. The lock-in features actors role-playing as guards, fascinating prison stories...and an unscripted murder.

I liked this better then her longer books
Revisado: 05-07-24
I really just don’t like the main character I guess, but the plot lines are very similar in each book
There’s a murder angie whines about how she doesn’t want to be involved, then sticks her nose in anyway. After asking to many questions the murderer tries to kill her and she miraculously escapes. The end. No tying up all loose ends, just the end. Sorry. This book is good. I like that all characters participate this time

Enjoyed this book
Revisado: 04-22-24
Story was good. I was irritated with the ridicule of the old drunk as she spends the night drinking and smoking, without realizing she’s heading there herself, but I guess that’s real life. Overall I liked the book
Narration was to breathy and monotone for me. Made me sleepy, though I assume the narrator was playing the character who was emotionally numb

Main character wasn’t doing ridiculous, stupid and dangerous things. The cops weren’t portrayed as being absolutely stupid and ineffective, as I have seen in MANY cozy mysteries. I enjoyed this book

Same old same old
Revisado: 03-31-24
I’ve listened to a few of these stories and I’m soooo tired of hearing the main character go on about how she doesn’t want to be involved in another murder and then goes out of her way to involve herself anyway. The cops evidently don’t know how to follow up on suspects because they only find out things from Robbie and the end is always her getting attacked by the killer and miraculously getting away. I need to take a break from these books. Not sure why she had nick slip saying the throat was cut when that wasn’t common knowledge and yet never had Robbie realize it.

Historia
Carole is thrilled with the coming wedding of her once-estranged son, Stephen. She finds it odd, though, that the parents of the bride have no interest in arranging the wedding, and seem terrified at the prospect of publicizing it. Things turn deadly intriguing when the father of the bride disappears at the engagement party, only to be found brutally murdered the following morn.

I love these books
We’ll written
Wonderful narration
Good plot
Most of all the main characters are not stupid. Though they do seem to overlook some things that to the reader is obvious, they do not try to confront the murderer before telling the police, which I find annoying in other books I have read. Actually so far they don’t seem to catch the murderer till the murderer catches one of them.

The plot was OK I just could not deal with that main character she is so stupid in some ways it’s ridiculous who would get out of the car and announce them selves to a probable murderer to save dogs and that’s just the end thing There was a lot more

When adoptee Lucille Jones comes to town researching her roots, Betsy Devonshire notices that she bears a remarkable resemblance to local Jan Henderson. Betsy introduces the look-alikes and they quickly hit it off. But then Jan's wealthy great-aunt is found dead, helped to her grave by a stiff metal wire—a double-zero knitting needle, in fact. Just like the kind Jan knits with.

Monotonous
Revisado: 09-17-23
The story probably could of been read in two hours but for all the filler. The plot was fair, the main character not like able, political crap irritating but the worst was the monotone, breathy voice of the narrator. This person should do relaxation tapes or sleeping tapes, kept finding myself nodding off but not to worry upon waking I found I really hadn’t missed much anyway
