Historia
All Thomas Weaver wanted was death. What he got was time travel. Thomas Weaver, haunted by a teenage tragedy, lived a wasted life. He closed his eyes for what he believed was the last time in 2016, but opened them again in his teenage bedroom and body in 1976. Now a middle-aged man in his teenage body, he sets out to fix everything he did wrong in his first life. A budding serial killer in home room, a possible new romance, and high school algebra complicate his plans. What would you do, if you could do it all again?

My new favorite series!!
Revisado: 11-05-22
Even if you're not interested in the sci-fi aspects of time travel, this book would be hard for anyone to put down. The characters and narrative were so intriguing that I listened straight through, only breaking to sleep (well past my bedtime). The author's note explains that the storylines are based on real people and events from his own life. This makes the book even more compelling. The author's ability to create intriguing character threads that so naturally intertwine and flow into each other makes a great foundation for an excellent series. I look forward to listening to every book.

Historia
Adam Binder has lost what matters most to him. Having finally learned the true identity of the warlock preying on his family, what was supposed to be a final confrontation with the fiend instead became a trap that sent Adam’s beloved Vicente into the realm of the dead, where none living are meant to be. Bound by debt, oath, and love, Adam blazes his own trail into the underworld to get Vicente back, and to end the threat of the warlock once and for all. But the road to hell is paved with far more than good intentions.

Exciting Audiodrama
Revisado: 06-22-22
This sci-fi audiodrama is a little bit awkward at times but it has a good storyline and is enjoyable. It is a great example of immersive space opera built on a classic hard science fiction foundation. The acting is occasionally unwieldy but it gets better with each subsequent episode and has a huge cast. It's totally worth a listen!!

Not Really My Bag, but...
Revisado: 02-03-22
This is a solid conclusion to the trilogy. The series are more action, fight sequence type stories. I prefer more cerebral science fiction; however, the world building is good and does have some depth. The vast majority is conflict filled and warmongering, which is really hard to differentiate when there is so much of it. It's doable.

Excellent Storyline, Incredible Performance!!
Revisado: 01-15-22
This type of richly post apocalyptic, dystopian narrative is exactly what I needed to be next on my Audible playlist. The main character is a lovely, naive young man motivated by what little he knows of his world and the amazing truths he has yet to discover. He is given a small taste of what he desires and it changes his life forever in good and bad ways. It's a great coming of age story read by an amazing performer, who has a grand selection of voices for the different characters in the story.

In a sprawling mansion filled with peculiar treasures, January Scaller is a curiosity herself. As the ward of the wealthy Mr. Locke, she feels little different from the artifacts that decorate the halls: carefully maintained, largely ignored, and utterly out of place. Then she finds a strange book. A book that carries the scent of other worlds and tells a tale of secret doors, of love, adventure, and danger. Each page turn reveals impossible truths about the world, and January discovers a story increasingly entwined with her own.

Great to Escape from it All!!
Revisado: 01-13-22
This is an adorable, coming of age fantasy that doesn't have too much angst or grit to bog the reader down. Perfect for these difficult times, this book will take your mind off your troubles, immerse you in it's depths, and keep you interested for the duration. Keep in mind the narrator is a young girl and fragile in places, so she naively transverses the narrative clumsily at times.. The reader seamlessly switches between voices, which are expertly performed and characterized perfectly. I would listen to any title just to hear her read again!!

Dark and Frustrating
Revisado: 10-07-21
This author has a dark vision of humanity that is depressing. The entire trilogy is plagued by this idea that humans cannot succeed at doing/being better as we exist right now; that it will take major evolutionary leaps forward for us to survive as a species; that we are doomed and there is no hope for us. If you are trying to cheer yourself up this isn't the series for you.
