Perspective!
Revisado: 01-09-19
This author knows life with a family member who has autism. I do not have anyone related to me that has autism but I am a teacher and have experience with different levels of autism through that. To listen to someone else’s experiences and reactions hit home with me. Even though my child does not have autism I know that she has different reactions based on how I react to situations and her. Gayle also spoke about how her life has changed because of spontaneous reactions and no longer being able to control anything and feeling such doubt (I can’t imagine). This book was beneficial for me to read a parents view on this situation so that when I am involved in possible parent meetings and IEP meetings I can remember the extent of adjustments and hardships these parents experience. I will definitely use this as a reference and a reminder of different struggles and perspectives. I recommend this book without a doubt, NOT as a book to help you cope with children with autism per say but more to hear experiences and have a different perspective in life.

Brian Rutenberg's Life's Paintings in an Audio Boo
Revisado: 08-01-17
What did you love best about Clear Seeing Place?
I really loved how I was able to feel his stories and how they connected to the artist he became.
Any additional comments?
This book is a journey through Brain Rutenberg's life and the monumental situations that led him to where he is today, his autobiography. He uses his personal stories to bring life to his paintings. I am not an artist but I could definitely feel the love of art that this guy has and I could feel the excitement for art even though I do not have much knowledge about art. This audio book is recommended for everyone because it shows the process of pursuing goals.

Not for the light of heart but it is crazy!
Revisado: 05-04-17
What made the experience of listening to The Testimony of a Villain the most enjoyable?
I enjoyed the authenticity the author brought to the book and how we could see the events of the book unfold.
What was one of the most memorable moments of The Testimony of a Villain?
The death of his parents and older sisters was one of the most memorable to me because it led to so much of the rest of the book and to how his life changed so much.
Which scene was your favorite?
I can't really say that I had a favorite scene in this book as it was such a graphic book. However, I thought his transition from his life of wealth to life of rags and trying to make ends meet even when they weren't was one of the most interesting because you see so many rags to riches books but this was a riches to rags in a way.
If you could rename The Testimony of a Villain, what would you call it?
If You Only Knew
Any additional comments?
I got the audio book of “The Testimony of a Villain” by Aaron G. Harrell. This book is a hard one to swallow. It has very dramatic, graphic, and sad parts to it. Without giving too much away I want to warn you that it is quite a bit to take in as the author does not avoid talking about some very realistic things that can happen to people, particularly things some experience from the inner city. As readers you have probably read the rags to riches or the riches to rags. This main character has money and then after a drastic scene his life is changed. He then lives life dramatically changed from before. Now he struggles with anger, violence, money issues, sexual acts, and darkness. This book takes you to a new world and into a new light. There was a lot that happened to this character and it makes you ache for the life that some are living out today. The author will be unmatched in his depictions of this life. I would recommend this book with a warning, it Is graphic and violent and is not for the light of heart. It is a serious book and should be read as so. It is not a light easy beach read. I would have liked to have known that before reading/listening to this book and so I figured I would share that with you.

Marriage is tricky...even with experience
Revisado: 04-21-16
What made the experience of listening to Ring EXchange: Life Lessons From a Multiple Marrier the most enjoyable?
I thought this was one of the better marriage self-help books for the reason that the author was in the situation many times. This sounds silly because if the author had many issues in her marriages how could it help me save mine or pick my right guy? Well, because in each relationship that Ms. Evans had, she was able to look back and see mistakes and what she learned from each relationship. Sometimes it is hard to see these things while you are in it but once you are out, you can see things, you can see the big picture. She was able to share her experience which may help others see and avoid things before they become too big of an issue. She also interviews others and so it is not solely her perspective that you are listening to. I am married and only once, but there are lessons that I learned in this book that assist me in noticing things that I can avoid in my marriage and how to solve issues that may arise. The underlying message is that marriage can be tricky, even if you have experience in it. There are things that are going to arise but you have to understand who you are and what you want before you can go about being with someone else in a marriage. Marriage is uniting two people, two lifestyles, two characteristics, two different personalities, two futures and making it fit into one. You have to be ready to adjust, be strong, be flexible, and etc.
