OUTSTANDING INFORMATION!!!

Great narration with the correct voice for information. I have a degree in Industrial Organizational Psychology and have continued my education since graduating 25 years ago. I read Everything from Daniel Kahneman or about him. The material in the book is takes Mr. Kahneman's Nobel Prize winning data to a practical level and blends it with the best perceptual psychological there is.

Historia
Human beings are primates, and primates are political animals. Our brains, therefore, are designed not just to hunt and gather but also to help us get ahead socially, often via deception and self-deception. But while we may be self-interested schemers, we benefit by pretending otherwise. The less we know about our own ugly motives, the better - and thus, we don't like to talk, or even think, about the extent of our selfishness. This is "the elephant in the brain".

If your are not a self aware person that thinks that the universe exists the way you see it and that you have the world completely figured you will not be able to handle this book. If you are open minded and can accept chang and uncertainty easily you will love this book.

Today's psychologist is apt to be very different from the image most people conjure up when asked to picture one - an image that almost always suggests Sigmund Freud or someone like him, complete with leather couch.
