Misty the main character is crude rude and obnoxious. Didn’t think she was too bright. She continued to be the worst kind of female while knowing she is in the past. When in Rome….. I will skip this one when listening to the series next time.

I have purchased the whole Brooch series in book and auditable . I have loved the series up till now. The narrators are horrible! Particularly the woman narrator. She has a very unpleasant voice and sounds like it’s the first time she read the script. Very unbelievable.Cringe worthy. Not to mention she makes Ensley the character she reads for sound rude, nasty And very unlikeable.I did listen longer this attempt than the last time I tried to listen to this book but only because I forward past some of the female character parts.
Who ever chose the narrators ruined the series. This series was one of my favorite up until now. I have just shy of 550 auditable books I’ve bought and listen to over the last 10 years. I can say this narration is almost if not the worst I’ve heard. I sincerely hope that it is redone by the previous narrators or people who at least sound similar or have a gift for bringing life the the character. I can’t stress enough what a disappointment The Sunstone Brooch is . It does not do this series any favors. I will avoid this female narrator in the future and recommend you not waste your money on the auditable version.

Narration can make or brake the book.

With this particular book it broke. A man with a nasally woman’s voice is very unappealing. The cheesy sing song way the narrator spoke irritated me. I didn’t get past the second chapter . It’s a pass on this one.

Narration is horrible.

I highly recommend reading this in book form not auditable . The narrator has a terrible nasally voice. What a horrible choice for any book narration. Who was responsible for this choice should be fired.
I paid good money for this auditable book. I will listen to the sample before buying. From now on.

This story does not need so much porn to sell the story line. There is enough smutt out there as it is. Had to fast forward through much of it to get on with the story.

Beginning seems to drag.

I think this audio book would have been much better with a narrator that put a little character in her work. It sounded like a monotone reading. I is taxing to listen to the first 5 or so chapters with all the storyline set up in a monotone narration. Her voice is pleasant but drums on and on. I've listen to at least 300 books and some are just poorly narrated.

I would have given 5 stars but I was very put off with the use of Christ's name in the book. It was constant. I cringed every time it was so casually tossed out there. I'm a Christian and I was offended every time. I'm sure there has got to be another word that can be used. I could fast forward past explicit sex but there is no warning for he cursing. Specially since I listen to the audio book.

What would have made To Have and to Hold better?

Better narrator, the narrator used too sarcastic of a voice for the female character. I found it impossible to like her when about half way through the story tine need you to like her and want her with the main male character.

What was most disappointing about Leigh Greenwood’s story?

Long and boring. Nothing notable happened. The story lacked meat. I was very disappointed. I will probably avoid this author in the future. I did not finish this one. It just dragged so bad.

How did the narrator detract from the book?

Way too much sarcasm for the main female chacacture. So much so I could not stand her after 8 chapters of it. In reality no man would find her personality attractive no matter how petty unless her was not very bright.

If you could play editor, what scene or scenes would you have cut from To Have and to Hold?

Would you recommend this book to a friend? Why or why not?

I would not recommend this book. The story could have been better with very little effort.
It was on the corny side.

How did the narrator detract from the book?

The narrator sounded like she is in her 60s. She read the story instead of telling it. And she made it sound childish and fakey. I can't believe she is a narrator. I think she ruined a otherwise ok book. I don't think I can stand listening to that narrator ruin another book so I will avoid her name as narrator in the future.

Do you think Nellie needs a follow-up book? Why or why not?

Yes I just wish they were narrated by someone with a younger voice who had better inflection to her voice. A better story teller.

This has to be the worst narration I've heard in the last 300 books.
