Historia
Welcome to The Slaughtered Lamb Bookstore and Bar. I'm Sam Quinn, the werewolf book nerd in charge. I run my business by one simple rule: Everyone needs a good book and a stiff drink, be they vampire, wicche, demon, or fae. No wolves, though. Ever. I serve the supernatural community of San Francisco. We've been having some problems lately. Okay, I'm the one with the problems. The broken body of a female werewolf washed up on my doorstep. What makes sweat pool at the base of my spine, though, is realizing the scars she bears are identical to the ones I conceal.

Honestly wasn’t for me
Revisado: 07-17-24
Felt very conflicted throughout the book. The protagonist back story doesn’t add up to what is currently happening to her. Or, the response to the actions around her doesn’t feel appropriate when weighed with her emotional baggage?? She’s very okay with people dying all around her but can’t get past her troubled past??? I mean? Idk? Kept pulling me out of the “fantasy” when she would barely mention someone dying on her behalf / her honor. The romance was very cheesy in this sense

Historia
The debut psychological thriller that will forever change the way you look at other people's lives. Every day the same. Rachel takes the same commuter train every morning and night. Every day she rattles down the track, flashes past a stretch of cozy suburban homes, and stops at the signal that allows her to daily watch the same couple breakfasting on their deck. She’s even started to feel like she knows them. Jess and Jason, she calls them. Their life - as she sees it - is perfect. Not unlike the life she recently lost.

I bought this book for a long drive on a rainy day. It was the perfect combination of thrill and compassion.

Really didn't shine a light to No.1 and No.2
Revisado: 06-17-11
This was a good book, and a good listen. A lot of suspense, which I have countered in a lot of Pike books. Sita is a really strong characters and I really like her. So, I would suggest listening to this book only if you loved no.1 and no.2 because you won't really follow along if you haven't. I gave this book three stars because I felt like it wasn't wrote up to par to no.1 and no.2.

Good, but not fantastic.
Revisado: 06-17-11
This book offers what all the other reviewers said, but I can't say I would use words like "fantastic," "amazing," and "terrific." It definitely made for an interesting read(or listen) but the end was anticlimactic.. So anticlimactic that I did rate this book with four stars, but thought of the ending and brought it down to three.. So, buy if you are an avid Green fan, but not if you have just have, by chance, found this book. Maybe I'm not being fair.. This book made me laugh, be sad, be happy, and maybe I snorted. (maybe). The narration was FANTASTIC, and he does deserve that word. The characters were easy to relate to and made you like them, but that is about all the positives I can think on the top of my head.

One of the best, original, YA book I've read.
Revisado: 06-13-11
I've listened to many audiobooks, but this one really stood out among the crowd! Really! It was full of action, drama, suspense, surprise, and even some romance mixed up in all that. Kinda reminded me of a side salad( haha. no? No one laughed.. okay..well..) yeah, anyways, it was a really good book. Try it, you won't feel bad about it!

One of the best. (and im a harsh critic)
Revisado: 06-11-11
I found myself swaying to the beat of this book, and trust me, it had one. I loved it from the start! (well, okay.. from about chapter three.) The characters are great! Really, they are. Maybe great isn't a good word for them.. words like AMAZING, PHENOMENAL, and BRILLIANT come to mind.. But they just sound stupid when I use them in a sentence. On a serious note, this book was worth your credit and money. It was everything I expected from two great authors! If you want more, like I did... Try Looking for Alaska by John Greene and Boy Meets Boy by David Levithan. Great book/audiobooks.. OH, and P.S. the reading on this was just great! It really made the book. :)

Revisado: 05-31-11
Although I wouldn't really call this book "the most hilarious thing ever," I would say that it was witty, perhaps nostalgic, somewhat sad, and very comical. Kathy is a very funny person, and this transcends to her writing. BUT PLEASE REMEMBER, if you just want a cheap laugh, this is not it. It's a personal MEMOIR, and not everything can be funny. Some is sad, some nostalgic, and some really funny. If you are looking for a cheap laugh and not the full ride, don't buy it. If you LOVE/LIKE K.G, then please buy it. You will love it! I did.

[Though not funny, insightful into her life.]
Revisado: 05-28-11
Well, I believe that this book wasn't wrote to make the audience laugh.. but more to make the audience have a deeper insight into Lisa Lamp's life. She talks a lot about how crazy she is which I didn't find too funny. Her wit is intertwined with her story, but something that would make one smile instead of *LAUGH OUT LOUD.* Though I believe that this isn't a GREAT book, I believe it is a GOOD book. So, basically, buy it if you just REALLY love Lamp and want to know a little about her... But DONT buy it if you just want to "bust out laughing." If you want to "bust out laughing," I suggest Dear Vodka, It's Me Chelsea by Chelsea Handler... It's pretty funny.
