Totally enjoyable!
Revisado: 11-18-21
Joe Cosentino combines hysterically funny and clever dialogue with heartwarming characters and an intricate mystery story to create a book that you don't want to stop listening to. This time, the cast is filming a low budget slasher film, when some of the actors get killed for real. The mystery keeps you guessing, the story keeps you laughing, and the characters keep you intrigued. In addition to the humor, mystery, and romance that are in all the books in this series, this also includes some emotional social commentary. Griswold Addams does a great job bringing everything to life. His voices are spot on, and his narration really captures the mood of the book.

Historia
Theater professor Nicky Abbondanza is directing a Sherlock Holmes musical in a professional summer stock production at Treemeadow College, costarring his husband and theatre professor colleague Noah Oliver as Dr. John Watson. When cast members begin toppling over like hammy actors at a curtain call, Nicky dons Holmes’ persona on stage and off. Once again, Nicky and Noah will need to use their drama skills to figure out who is lowering the street lamps on the actors before the handsome couple get half-baked on Baker Street.

This book is hysterically funny. The gay musical adaptation of Sherlock Holmes included in the story had me laughing out loud. The mystery is very clever and had me guessing until the end. I totally missed the clues. The characters are endearing with some sweet romance. The narrator does a brilliant job of capturing the characters and the humor. I didn't want to stop listening. Great fun!

Laugh out loud mystery!
Revisado: 09-04-17
If you could sum up Drama Cruise in three words, what would they be?
hysterical, intriguing, passionate
Who was your favorite character and why?
Of course Nicky, the MC. He has a wonderful sense of humor and is so passionate about everything he does -- from his directing, to his love for his husband, to his dedication to solving the murders.
Have you listened to any of Brad Enright’s other performances before? How does this one compare?
No. This is the first book I have heard. He did a great job in delineating the different characters and moving the story along.
Any additional comments?
Joe Cosentino has me rolling on the floor with his zany, witty, and unexpected humor, yet he writes fascinating characters and an intriguing mystery plot that keeps you guessing until the end.

Historia
When Mike found out he would be sharing a dorm with a former football star, he was terrified. He'd been bullied by jocks all his life for being scrawny and weak and didn't have high expectations of how it would go. To his surprise, Brett was a great guy that was easy to get along with and seemed to enjoy his company. When Mike learned that Brett was gay, it was a shock but it also explained the threatening letters that Mike had been receiving. Was Mike really at risk because of a jealous ex?

A captivating listen
Revisado: 12-17-14
Would you listen to His Undoing: A Gay For You Erotic Short Story again? Why?
Yes. It really drew me into the characters and storyline, and I enjoyed spending time with them. Like any good book or movie, it will be nice to hear again -- and I will probably find more nuances the second time around.
What did you like best about this story?
I liked the deep tenderness, yet real sensuality of the two main characters. Following Mike's journey and personal discoveries were especially heartwarming. He was very real. That is what made the sexual scenes all the more steamy.
Have you listened to any of Fred Wolinsky’s other performances before? How does this one compare?
Not yet, but I would like to see what else he can do. I love that he does not sound like a radio announcer, but rather like a real college kid. His narration drew me into the story and characters. I felt like I was experiencing a movie.
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
Yes. It was less than 2 hours, so that is certainly possible. The story moved quickly and had some unexpected twists. I was always curious to see what would happen next.
