Historia
Peter is a Dublin lawyer in his thirties—successful, competent, and apparently unassailable. But in the wake of their father’s death, he’s medicating himself to sleep and struggling to manage his relationships with two very different women—his enduring first love, Sylvia, and Naomi, a college student for whom life is one long joke. Ivan is a twenty-two-year-old competitive chess player. He has always seen himself as socially awkward, a loner, the antithesis of his glib elder brother. Now, in the early weeks of his bereavement, Ivan meets Margaret.

Understanding, Forgiveness and Healing
Revisado: 11-17-24
This book delves deep into human emotions in a profound and poetic way. I’ve listened to sections over and over again. Her characters are so real and their lives though complicated can be related to. I would love for there to be a part II.

Historia
One of Jane Austen’s most beloved works, Pride and Prejudice, is vividly brought to life by Academy Award nominee Rosamund Pike ( Gone Girl). In her bright and energetic performance of this British classic, she expertly captures Austen’s signature wit and tone. Her attention to detail, her literary background, and her performance in the 2005 feature film version of the novel provide the perfect foundation from which to convey the story of Elizabeth Bennet, her four sisters, and the inimitable Mr. Darcy.

Historia
The Workbook for Students includes 365 lessons, one for each day of the year. It is not necessary, however, to do the lessons at that tempo, and one might want to remain with a particularly appealing lesson for more than one day. The practical nature of the Workbook is underscored by the introduction to its lessons, which emphasizes experience through application rather than a prior commitment to a spiritual goal.

An answer to the mysteries of life
Revisado: 12-23-23
Many years ago I looked for and could not find answers to why the world was full of suffering and corruption. Why God allowed these things to happen. The answers did not come quickly. I, the student was not ready. But when they did it was in this book. I knew immediately that the words on the pages were the answers. I did not understand fully for many years, but still I believed and had faith. I can say that this book has kept me going and growing. And as the world seems to worsen, The course’s truths become clearer and my understanding and forgiveness of the world more steadfast.

Historia
The Courage to Be Disliked, already an enormous best seller in Asia with more than 3.5 million copies sold, demonstrates how to unlock the power within yourself to be the person you truly want to be. Using the theories of Alfred Adler, one of the three giants of 20th-century psychology, The Courage to Be Disliked follows an illuminating conversation between a philosopher and a young man. The philosopher explains to his pupil how each of us is able to determine our own life, free from the shackles of past experiences, doubts, and the expectations of others.

A very useful book on overcoming the fear of dislike
Revisado: 01-09-23
This book was extremely helpful, because being disliked is something I have been dealing with most of my life. I have mostly dealt with it through the wisdom of writers and therapists. So this book in particular is another healing balm I will apply. For that I am thankful.

Fascinating characters and rich story telling at its best! The cast lived the story with such believable depth and intrigue. Each page kept me engaged and wanting more. I felt like a kid having the story read to me with my imagination and curiosity let loose.
