Surprisingly honest autobiography.

Great story but not the best performance

As a South African, it was a bit disappointing first of all to have an American read the book. While Michael Boatman did a fairly good job on Madiba’s voice, he severely failed on pronouncing a large number of names (particularly the Afrikaans ones). He could easily have checked these before reading the book.

Brilliant Performance

This is the first time I've heard Mike Grady and he fits this book perfectly. I feel as if he could be Taita himself. Not the best Wilbur Smith book I've read but still a very good read.
