Christian beatnik, poet, producer, and spoken word performance artist extraordinaire Vic Zarley has produced and published an incredible body of work in this audiobook. His range is breathtaking in diversity of thought, emotion, and music in both substance and style. Some of the music fits so well with the words that it is difficult to believe that they were not written for each other instead of selected from websites from musicians unknown to Mr. Zarley. This audiobook answers the question of what can happen when one man gives his art to Jesus (chapter 72) in the Internet age. I encourage you to listen to the available excellent sample, but also know there are many other styles and tempos from humorous satire to profound theology to nursery rhyme silly to serious and.personal. The title poem, "God is a Poem" is chapter 49. Some of my favorites include 31 Give Praise to God (written by Vic's wife Eva), 54 Beyond the Pages, 55 I Wear My Sin, 61 Let's Break Some Laws, 75 The Dammed
92 "Was, is, and yet to be were chatting over a cup of tea", 93 The Parking Lot, 99 Sometimes I Feel So Fragile, 100 We're leaving bodies everywhere. I will definitely be listening to this book again, perhaps one chapter a day to better appreciate each one. Also, musical moods and styles range all across the spectrum with names like "Boogie woogie", "Spanish summer", "Banjo hop", "Merry go," & ""Rogue nation." Appropriate for all ages. Note: due to the addition of music and various reading styles by the author, the audiobook experience is much enhanced over the written version of the book. Disclosure: I received a copy of this audiobook to review but I was not financially compensated in any way. The opinions expressed are my own and are based on my observations while reading/listening to this book. Shawn Loy, Austin, IN

Yet another original and profound challenge to followers of Christ from author Vic Zarley. There are 40 chapters ranging in size from 3 minutes to 23 minutes making this a good daily devotional. You can tell the author has spent a lifetime soaking up and meditating on God's Word and reconciling it's truths with the many questions that suffering people in this fallen and sin cursed world always have. What is the purpose of our life? of our suffering? What is God's mission for me? How do I truly "love my enemies"? What must I do versus what do I let God do through me? Why settle for less than God's best for us (spiritual not material btw)? There is enough biblically derived "meat" in most chapters that I would recommend pausing and digesting each one before moving on to get maximum benefit to your own inner life with Jesus. This would also be a good Bible study for any open minded spiritual seekers of truth, parents, families, small groups, and/or a book club discussion. Note: As with any Christian author, not all will agree with 100% his theological thoughts, but I can tell you that he's a sincere, humble, Bible believing Christian thinker whose books are worthy material for anyone sincerely seeking a deeper experience with God. A modern pilgrim learns about holiness

Zarley tells a new story about some old saints. He breaks new creative ground, while also continuing the long tradition of trying to tell old stories to new generations (like Pilgrim's Progress). Could this book be one of the divine sparks that helps this generation look past our "wall of flesh" to see Jesus? And the simple way of holiness? And the deeper spiritual experiences that previous generations have recorded? Many prayer provoking thoughts. I really enjoyed the historical quotes from early holiness preachers. This could be a good way for parents to introduce this history to their children. It is an extraordinary demonstration of what one individual can accomplish nowadays and, specifically, the unique creativity and fertile imagination of the multi-talented Christian author, narrator, and publisher Vic Zarley. What should we do with our time?

From one perspective, this is a straightforward challenge to followers of Christ to use their precious time more wisely and pray instead of watch tv from a fellow Christian who speaks biblical truth in Christian love. From another perspective, this is an important and thought-provoking contribution to the current discussion of how our various entertainment "screens" have spiritually changed not just Christians but all humans. Would be a good Bible study for Christians, parents, families, small groups, etc. Also, would be good for a book club discussion and/or anyone else interested in a unique view on the impact of technology on human productivity, creativity and spirituality.
