somehow Pierce Brown manages to keep this series fresh and exciting at every turn and I'm glad that TGR is doing the whole narration.

Nothing against the other actors, but TGR is the voice of Red Rising in my mind.

fun ride with no end in sight

Dragon's justice manages to still feel fresh and exciting after so many installments. We are finally getting some closure past loose ends and have something to look forward in terms of a plan as opposed to just reacting to what's coming.

This review is my honest opinion for a review copy:

This book revolved mostly around completing the final bond and it managed to resolve it in a satisfying way; It also answered what had been a loose end from War God from Hire, so that's something to look forward to if you have been checking out this author's other works. Not much else to say about the events, other than it never felt boring, despite being a <comparatively> lower stakes/less drama than the other volumes in the series.

The dual narration was great, but my only criticism is that I wish for whenever there is an interlude with a female POV to have it narrated by the female narrator as opposed to only just getting the voiceover whenever there is a woman speaking.

Good story with a somewhat rushed ending.

Narrators: They were pretty good all things considered, but I feel like the female narrator could use an upgrade to her equipment; The performance was good overall, but just things that can always be improved upon.

Story: First two books were about as good as what I expected after I got into the groove of things, but the third book felt like the author wanted to rush things a bit and close things out, so he went for a final tournament scenario out of nowhere with a boss battle.

I feel like to get where the author wanted to get while keeping up the pace of the first two books, he probably need to do either a fourth novel or double the size of the third book, so it didn't feel so rushed, but he went with a timeskip+Dragon Ball style tournament to wrap things up nicely and a very brief epilogue. It didn't ruin things, but it definitely left you wanting for a better/more fleshed out ending.

This series had two very distinct issues across the entirety of it: You never felt like the MC was in any real danger/sense of urgency and couldn't figure out what the story wanted to be.

This book in particular felt like a Star Trek mission without real stakes, which is weird to say since they are in the middle of an intergalactic war.

It's not a bad book, but I just didn't think it was particularly engaging at any point simply because it never felt like there was any struggle at any point of the story.

basically, if you just want a series to chill with a low stress adventure, while listening to Jessica Threet do her thing, then I can think of a lot worse things that you could be doing with your time.

a departure from the original

bruce is coming up in the world in a big way and this is definitely a departure from the original, but it's not necessarily a bad thing.

The only thing that I would've preferred to see was a more natural development of the relationships obtained in this entry, since everything just felt too easy when expanding his group.
