Mailer lost control of the readers' interests. it was more of a legal treatise and maneuvers preceding a foreprdained execution than a fast paced thriller of a highly publicized àrrest, trial and latter days of the prisoner's experience.

Historia
Emerson Knight is introverted and eccentric and has little to no sense of social etiquette. Good thing he's also brilliant, rich, and (some people might say) handsome, or he'd probably be homeless. Riley Moon has just graduated from Harvard Business and Harvard Law. Her aggressive Texas spitfire attitude has helped her land her dream job as a junior analyst with megabank Blane-Grunwald. At least Riley Moon thought it was her dream job, until she is given her first assignment: babysitting Emerson Knight.

Like all ivanovitch novels, this was funny and well written. Good plot, both original and stocked with good characters. I enjoyed it beginning to end and the narrator was very good.

Historia
Two men, each handsome and unusually adept at his chosen work, embodied an element of the great dynamic that characterized America’s rush toward the twentieth century. The architect was Daniel Hudson Burnham, the fair’s brilliant director of works and the builder of many of the country’s most important structures, including the Flatiron Building in New York and Union Station in Washington, D.C. The murderer was Henry H. Holmes, a young doctor who, in a malign parody of the White City, built his “World’s Fair Hotel” just west of the fairgrounds.

pedantic
Revisado: 10-19-20
Larson writes 2 novels here. One is about the building and architecture of the Chicago world's fair in 1892 semi: the other is about a murderer too committed many vicious homicides during the same.. There is very little, if any linkage between the 2, and he had ample opportunity to start to build suspense but never does.

Historia
Mattie Ross, a 14-year-old girl from Dardanelle, Arkansas, sets out to avenge her Daddy who was shot to death by a no-good outlaw. Mattie convinces one-eyed "Rooster" Cogburn, the meanest U.S. marshal in the land, to ride along with her. In True Grit, we have a true American classic, as young Mattie, as vital as she is innocent, outdickers and outmaneuvers the hard-bitten men of the trail in a legend that will last through the ages.

Character builds the story
Revisado: 05-22-20
The reader learns of the characters and individuality of the characters not because the author tells the story or indicates it's trajectory,. t, but through the development of their dialog, decisions and missions. It is a compelling book.

In the middle of the night, in a house on a quiet street in suburban Minneapolis, intruders silently murder Luke Ellis' parents and load him into a black SUV. The operation takes less than two minutes. Luke will wake up at The Institute, in a room that looks just like his own, except there's no window. And outside his door are other doors, behind which are other kids with special talents - telekinesis and telepathy - who got to this place the same way Luke did: Kalisha, Nick, George, Iris, and 10-year-old Avery Dixon.

Interesting theory, dramatically presented
Revisado: 12-08-19
Stephen King knows how to keep the story moving along at a good clip. Sometimes his writing is a little simplistic, but over all, is a polished writer working Insightfully in the idea realm. The narrator, Santino Fontana, is one of the best narrators I have listened to in many years.

How's the weather? Well, there is a lot more to it then I ever guessed. Michael Lewis does an absolutely superb job in reporting things I never knew about the importance of Big Data and how it can be used in tracking and analyzing weather patterns and very real humans who make it their life's work.
