Historia
The wind screams. The dark night is freezing. Vossk, a Vostroyan Firstborn, shrinks into a rock against a howl of memories. Having disgraced himself by deserting his post during a terrifying encounter, Vossk had resigned himself to penal servitude, though yearned for the chance to redeem himself. But in the 41st Millennium, such dreams are hollow when a man’s reality has been shaken to his core. Found in the shadows of a pitiless cave, Vossk relives his tale to his rescuer....

not quote as good as watcher in the rain, but still very good

it's awesome to see another good horror story in 40k, especially featuring the legion of the damned

extremely mediocre
Revisado: 06-20-24
overall, it's pretty mediocre. it comes off as some weeaboo neckbeards fan fic where the mc is a massive Mary sue and doesn't struggle for anything. there's no growing pains fitting into his new life and the only conflict is so predictable and vanilla it's laughable. the author uses so much descriptive language that it just blends together. alot of the time it's overwritten and not needed, sometimes even just restating what's already been said as if to remind you how awesome the mc is. many of the characters are just stupid. when Hannah gets kidnapped because she steps outside by herself, even though she's supposedly sooooo smart, it just goes against all logic and common sense. id give it like a 3.5 or 4/10

great as usual
Revisado: 11-04-23
same great quality I've come to expect although a little short. I'd like to see more of what happens with the characters afterwards. The horror part of the book was fantastic and genuinely sets you on edge. I do wish there was a bit more of a preamble and padding before the main event came around but overall, worth the token.

Historia
Tony Platz had the respect of his peers, a career on the fast track, and the body of an Olympian. There was only one problem: It was an open secret he carried a torch for his already-married partner. When a raid put her in the hospital and finally exposed her husband's ongoing infidelity, Tony got shipped out to Oolytau. Tayra Manes worked hard, graduated the academy, and became the first of her kind to join the Non-Human Investigative Corps. There was only one problem: She was a griffin, and not everyone approved of her being allowed to serve in the previously all-human NHIC.

a great continuation
Revisado: 06-03-23
I'm really loving the series so far. I would highly recommend it. just like the first book, it's not just sex and romance. There's some genuinely intriguing story underneath. characters are written very well, although, not as well as the two from the first book. my main complaint with the first 2 books is that it feels like each finishes only an arc of the characters' stories, not the entirety. while I have another 2 books to go in the series, and I'm not sure if more are being written, both books feel like they were only part 1 of 2 or even 3. maybe more will be written later on from these and the first book's characters' perspectives, but right now it feels like it'd cut a bit short

Historia
Andrew hunts monsters as a member of the Non-Human Investigative Corps, and he's very good at his job. Unfortunately, the skills he honed to keep the peace aren't much use in the cutthroat world of city politics, and a recent civil ruling is forcing the integration of the once exclusively human NHIC!

left me wanting more
Revisado: 06-02-23
overall very good. the characters are well written and not defined only by their species. all of them stand on their own 2 (or 8) legs and would be good and relatable in spite of being non human. very good romance but I really want more of these characters. Cebelius built up so much background and intrigue when it came to extra info on characters that I feel like their HAS to be more.
