What disappointed you about Ballistic?
I've read the first to in this series. This is a shocker. I gave up half-way through. I found the story way to slow.
What was most disappointing about Mark Greaney’s story?
Lack of development. Very slow.

Jay Snyder's narration is first class. However, due to the story writing in this book, I shan't risk my money on the fourth in the series.

Jay is a fantastic narrator - the best I have heard.

It's not a moving book.

I found the battle scene too lengthy. Some of the interactions that the narrator brings to life are quite amusing. The narrator is brilliant. Editing needs improvement.

High quality thriller

A great story that was very well narrated.

This is the second Ian Rankin book I have listened to. I'm not a book expert, but it seems that Ian's books focus a lot on developing characters well. This coupled with this brilliant narrator make this book a great listen. The narrator was consistent with his voices to the point where it was close to listening to a play.
It's also the second Rankin book I've read/listened to that doesn't climax as much as you'd expect. I expect this is just a writing style.
Unfortunately, this audiobook was let down by the audio editing. We know that the narrator breaks during the recording, but this was obvious as the volume levels changed a bit in the strangest places.

Perhaps I haven't read enough novels in my time, but I gave up on this after a couple of hours. The attention to detail was over the top so the progression of the story suffered. It was as if it was written with the intention of providing the director all he needs to know to turn it to a movie. This is not the best review, but as I have only given it a couple of hours, this is all I can say.
