Would you consider the audio edition of Fractured Vows to be better than the print version?

I enjoyed both venues.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Bo, of course. Men rarely admit to true confessions, and for this reason, Bo is endearing.

What about Kirk Winkler’s performance did you like?

Mr. Winkler did an excellent job with narrative and dialogue. A good choice for this work.

Who was the most memorable character of Fractured Vows and why?

I admire Bo's willingness to share his life's story; it's not easy to admit to the negative aspects of life's journey. Hindsight is a hard taskmaster, and Bo realizes how things could have been handled differently.

Kudos to Bo for sharing his innermost thoughts and feelings as he struggled through life's challenges.

Where does The Children of the New Forest rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

I would rank this audio book in the top ten percentile.

What did you like best about this story?

Learning how the common people were affected during Britain's Civil War.

What about Sebastian Lockwood’s performance did you like?

I enjoyed the narrator's ability to bring the characters to life.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

Especially liked the forest protector taking care of the orphaned children after their father dies while fighting for the king.

Any additional comments?

Mr. Lockwood keeps an historical adventure alive and interesting. Thoroughly enjoyable.

Poignant story depicting the realities of war

Would you listen to The Night I Danced with Rommel again? Why?

Yes. The author brings to life the time period, accurately describing the events - an excellent behind the scenes WW II story.

What did you like best about this story?

Hilde’s courage, which is evident as she tries to maintain a degree of normalcy with her young children while her husband is deployed.

What does Nancy Peterson and Bennett Allen bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

Ms. Peterson brings the characters to life. She has the perfect voice for this story.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

When Hilde described going to bed hungry and worrying about rations and how difficult it was to adequately care for her children.

Any additional comments?

The reader is drawn into a war-torn country where civilians are not privy to the truth of Hitler’s regime, where speculation and fear dominate daily life. Worth a listen.

Spiritually uplifting

Yes. The poems are inspirational and written from the heart.

What other book might you compare Transcendence to and why?

Gifts With No Giver: A Love Affair With Truth by Nirmala comes to mind. This work is also spiritual and written from the heart.

What about Sarah Van Sweden’s performance did you like?

Sarah's voice is perfect for this work. Her melodious tone enhances the written word, beautiful and soothing.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

Even though the darkest emotions such as depression are revealed, the light of hope prevalent throughout the work brings peace to the soul. Well done.

Journey to Freedom Prequel

What made the experience of listening to Their Journey Begins the most enjoyable?

Having the characters brought to life.

What other book might you compare Their Journey Begins to and why?

This book is the prequel to Journey to Freedom. I have read both books, which is not just for Civil War buffs. Ms. Meador gives the reader an insight into the lives of those who lived through such perilous times.

Have you listened to any of Anthony Charles’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

This is my first experience with Mr. Charles's work. His voice was perfect for this work.

If you could take any character from Their Journey Begins out to dinner, who would it be and why?

Black Arrow. I would be interested in hearing about Native Americana folklore that would not be mentioned in history books.

Without giving too much away, suffice it to say this prequel piques one’s interest - I want to know what happened to them.

Yes. Not just for children, these books are entertaining as they are informative and a delight to read.

What was one of the most memorable moments of On Top of the Rainbow?

When Gabe meets the Leprechaun named Lep who guards a pot of gold at the end of the rainbow.

Have you listened to any of Michaela James’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

This is my first experience listening to Michaaela James's work. She did an outstanding job bringing the characters to life.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

I smiled frequently, laughing at some of Gabe's experiences - no spoilers here.

I also recommend the Spanish version of this title, which I thoroughly enjoyed.

Yes. The author does an excellent job in conveying family values, detailing a crucial lesson to teach a young impressionable mind

Books by Esphyr Slobodkina come to mind. Not just for children, these books are entertaining as they are informative and a delight to read.

What does John Martinez bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

Mr. Martinez brings the characters to life. He is not simply reading the words, he is living them.
