So so good!
Revisado: 02-18-24
Absolutely loved this book! What a twisting story of intrigue and interest! The characters were so fully developed that I was fully invested in each one of them. The storyline was gripping, and while I wanted to know the ending, I didn’t want the book to end.

Wow! Gripping!
Revisado: 02-01-24
What an excellent listen! The story grabs and doesn’t let go until the very end. It’s not easy, I imagine, to write thrillers without graphic violence. But this writer does it brilliantly. It’s so good I could listen again even though I know the ending!

Just end it already!
Revisado: 08-06-23
You know how a story is pretty good but then it just goes on and on and on past several times where it could have ended satisfactorily until you no longer care what happens to the characters because you just want the story to end already? Yep. That.

Surprised and Disappointed 😐
Revisado: 07-17-16
How did I go from flying on my bike with Tully and Kate in Firefly Lane and dodging German soldiers with the heroines of The Nightingale to this state of complete lack of interest in the events and characters of Summer Island? Boring is all I can say about this novel. It seemed there was little to no development of the characters to connect me. I rolled my eyes when they expressed great joy and yawned in the face of their tragedy. Hard for me to believe it was written by my recently discovered "favorite author."

Historia
With courage, grace, and powerful insight, bestselling author Kristin Hannah captures the epic panorama of World War II and illuminates an intimate part of history seldom seen: the women's war. The Nightingale tells the stories of two sisters, separated by years and experience, by ideals, passion and circumstance, each embarking on her own dangerous path toward survival, love, and freedom in German-occupied, war-torn France—a heartbreakingly beautiful novel that celebrates the resilience of the human spirit and the durability of women. It is a novel for everyone, a novel for a lifetime.

Best story with addictive plot
Revisado: 06-21-16
This is my favorite book; and I'm an avid reader/listener! What a great story told poignantly and with the perfect balance of passion and wit. It reminds me of The Winds of War in historical setting, character development and plot. You won't be able to press "pause" often! You'll ride the wartime roller coster with its stomach turning, heart stopping drops, smile with joyful arms raised in triumph, and hate to know the ride has come to an end. "Again! Again!" you'll say as you re-queue up part 1 and press play.

CAN YOU HANDLE THE TRUTH?
Revisado: 03-07-15
Would you consider the audio edition of Confessions of an Economic Hitman to be better than the print version?
I haven't read the print version
What was the most compelling aspect of this narrative?
It was all compelling but the revelations of our interactions with specific countries was riveting.
Which character – as performed by Brian Emerson – was your favorite?
There were no characters as this is an autobiography.
If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?
Can you handle the truth?
Any additional comments?
If you dare listen to Confessions of an Economic Hitman, you will fully understand the scripture "No one can serve two masters. Either you will hate the one and love the other, or you will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve both God and money." (Matt. 6:24) Most of us just do not know how much we do not know beyond our own wallets and wealth accumulation. The good news is we CAN know, if we can handle the truth.

Excellent Listen!!
Revisado: 02-21-15
I love a good book set in a distant location and Solace of the Road does not disappoint! Beautifully told with an almost poetic voice at times, Solace welcomes the listener into the thoughts of a young girl as she imagines, remembers, and realizes her journey through life. Will definitely listen again. And, as a bonus, Sheila Birmingham is my all time favorite narrator! I'd listen to her read the phone book!
