Historia
Viv's career with the notorious mercenary company Rackam's Ravens isn't going as planned. Wounded during the hunt for a powerful necromancer, she's packed off against her will to recuperate in the sleepy beach town of Murk—so far from the action that she worries she'll never be able to return to it. What's a thwarted soldier of fortune to do? Spending her hours at a beleaguered bookshop in the company of its foul-mouthed proprietor is the last thing Viv would have predicted, but it may be both exactly what she needs and the seed of changes she couldn't possibly imagine.

Heartwarming and so very sapphic
Revisado: 01-17-24
Another beautiful adventure! Honestly some of the best fluffy lesbian romance I’ve ever read (and that’s a lot) and the action, adventure and witty dialogue tops it off perfectly! Never change Mr Baldree!

new storyline, same good fun and warm feelies
Revisado: 07-15-22
TW: this book has mentions of self harming thoughts/implied suicidal ideation/depression
A further warning:
This book does focus pretty heavily on (what other reviewers have been calling "political") issues of racial equality, marriage equality and other basic rights. If that's not what you want from your fiction, the series ends at the third book for you.
Also, the cursing and vulgarity has been turned way up, which, while I don't mind personally, could be jarring for some listeners.
Like every Threadbare book there's still adventure and battles and puns and pop culture references galore. It's a fun adventure. I can't say I liked it as much as the previous books, but I don't have
any real complaints, sometimes it's hard to find your feet on a new storyline.

would have been better with one narrator
Revisado: 07-07-21
great story but the multiple narrator's made for a really jarring experience. differences in pronunciation and character voices really takes away from the story
