The first book of the series was fantastic and I highly enjoyed it, recommending it to everyone. When the second book came out I was still very excited and still mostly enjoyed it. However, with this being the last book of the series, it left me not as interested in the series and not wanting to recommend it to anyone. There was too much going on in the last book, that I had a hard time keeping up and often caught myself not paying attention. I believe if the series would have continued more about the cards and less about the gods, the series would have been great. But incorporating gods, different realms of times, and so many characters, it had me disinterested.

For Mankala, I really expected a lot more. I was slightly disappointed. It felt like the author purposely extended the book with fillers of random people in order to continue with Mankala in the lower levels.

A good story…but disappointed

I have loved the series so far….but book five was rough for me. I had a hard time keeping up with so many characters and what everyone was doing. Honestly I felt as if I am Kal was trying to do too much. The storyline with the two main characters of plenty enough. I hope in the next book it goes back to what the first few books were about.
