impossible to put down

i can't say enough good about this series. I'm currently on book 4, started book one 3 days ago. the series is so good that I've been starting the next book immediately. if you've listened to any litrpg along the lines of The Land/ chaos seeds, Bushido Online ect, then you can't go wrong with this. the leveling system is complex but written in a way that's easy to follow. they get into the rpg part really quickly with minor setup as to why. just get it, you won't be disappointed

breathtaking story and narration

if you're seeing this review and haven't gotten the 1st book, get it and get this one. it's so good I'm completely comfortable recommending it to anyone and everyone. i can't wait for the next book. phenomenal voice acting and sound effects with a gripping story. nothing bad to say at all

great listen. the narrators did a fantastic job. my only problem is that i don't already have the next books to jump strait into. the story is solid with enough turns and action to keep you thoroughly engaged. if you like litrpg's at all then i think this is a must listen.

Another great story by Lee Mountford and the Narrator Hannibal Hills brings the characters to life once again.
I'm pretty picky, but Mr Mountford is one of only 3 authors in my 100's of books collection that has never let me down. if you find the description even mildly interesting then you won't be disappointed.

good book, narrator did better

it's by no means a perfect performance but I'm prepared to eat some of my words from my review of book 3.
she does a better job at pronouncing names ect, the only fault i found was with tertiary characters that were barely mentioned but Oberon is no longer Obreon which is good.
if you're reading this then you're 3 books in and likely are invested in the story already so by all means get this book.
if you were like me and hated the narrator at the start of 3 but powered thru then you'll find this better than that. more effort was clearly made and appreciated.

Feel bad for the author, VA killing the series

i paid for this and I'm going to finish it. I've never returned a book before and I'll not start now.
in short.
mispronounciations and little to no change in characters voices make it very very hard to listen to.
i genuinely feel bad for the author because this started as such an excellent series and i was about to pre-order the next book as i simply couldn't wait but seeing that it's the same VA as this book there's no way.
i hope there was a good reason for changing narrators because of it was simply to save money on production then that decision will certainly have the opposite effect.

i could forgive a bad narrator and often do but for the love of reading and stories take 5 min of your time and listen to a portion of the previous book or books, or would've taken all of 30 seconds or less to learn how to say the MC name. such lackluster effort made that i simply can't feel bad for speaking negatively of the narrator. if they had at least made the minimum effort.

if you've read this whole review and are determined to finish the book as i am then all i can advise is to lower the bass, turn up the treble and grit your teeth. 😓
