Jondalar is a turd.
Revisado: 04-02-24
Jondalar shows how little he respects Ayla by trying to get her to abandoned Wolf until he figures out how Wolf can be useful to him. He’s constantly discounting Ayla and questioning her skills, judgement and motives. He’s mostly using her for sex. If she was my friend, I would tell her to leave him!

Worth it, despite awkward narrator

Interesting and important content about what to eat to stay youthful. Spoiler: it’s vegetables! I’m excited about the PDF.
Narrator sounded constipated.

Loved it- quick binge listen
Revisado: 04-04-23
I don’t understand some people’s criticism of this book as being boring or disjointed…it very clearly and satisfyingly jumps back-and-forth each chapter between two different storylines and times to complete the mystery. They’re are all sorts of twists and turns and I loved it!

One of the hardest monotone readings ever. Handful of beautiful prose but likes ranting.

not nearly as satisfying as the first.
Revisado: 02-26-20
loved the first book. couldn't wait to dig in to this one. then it took me 3 tries. didn't hook me and couldn't keep me. finally managed to finish it while I was looking for something else to read and while it did get better toward the last 3 hours or so of the reading it doesn't even come close to the first. I would only recommend this one if a sequel comes out and that one turns out to be worth reading. if that doesn't happen I would have rather kept my higher opinion of these characters from the first book.

Historia
Deep below the University, there is a dark place. Few people know of it: a broken web of ancient passageways and abandoned rooms. A young woman lives there, tucked among the sprawling tunnels of the Underthing, snug in the heart of this forgotten place. Her name is Auri, and she is full of mysteries. The Slow Regard of Silent Things is a brief, bittersweet glimpse of Auri’s life, a small adventure all her own. At once joyous and haunting, this story offers a chance to see the world through Auri’s eyes.

unique and lyrical but not a narrative.

it was nice to get to know arie a bit more but this did nothing to move the story along so it will be disappointing to some.
