From the self-proclaimed Queen of the Stunted Late Bloomers and one of the most exciting emerging voices in comedy comes an honestly funny memoir about the awkward, cringeworthy, hilarious, and longest possible journey of coming of age and into her own.

Revisado: 12-30-21
This is a long audio book, but enjoyable for lots of driving. It spans Sophie's life from early childhood to the present and will have you chuckle hard at times. As a 33 year old American woman in 2021, this audiobook has a ton of relatable material through childhood and college, and world events. Lots of brilliant and absurd gay memories, along with a lot of family love. I hope to see Sophie Santos write more and perform more.

Historia
Steve Harvey can't count the number of impressive women he's met over the years - the many incredible women who can run a business, have three kids, maintain a household in tiptop shape, and chair a church group all at the same time. So when it comes to relationships, why can't these same women figure out what makes men commit? According to Steve, it's because they're asking other women for advice when they should be going directly to the source.

Historia
The theme of this four-day retreat: "It's Always Now" The Now is inseparable from who you are at the deepest level. It is the prerequisite of Being. As you listen to the words on this tape, you participate in the retreat. To "retreat" means to step back - not only from the outer world, but also from the world in your head, the thinking mind. Allow the sound of the words to take you beyond words and beyond sound to the stillness within.

Revisado: 04-02-21
I adore Eckhart Tolle. I first heard of him from Lisa A. Romano's YouTube channel for emotional guidance. I use this audio book repeatedly for getting through my remote work, which can be painfully tedious. the book is a great tool for quieting the mind and getting a deep spiritual laugh peppered into your hours.

It’s no wonder that The Power of Now has sold over 16 million copies worldwide and has been translated into over 30 foreign languages. Much more than simple principles and platitudes, the book takes readers on an inspiring spiritual journey to find their true and deepest self and reach the ultimate in personal growth and spirituality: the discovery of truth and light. In the first chapter, Tolle introduces listeners to enlightenment and its natural enemy, the mind.

Very Helpful and Soothing
Revisado: 11-05-20
I listen to this while I work remotely, I have a stressful job at times and this audiobook helps me to remain calm and proceed to finish my work under pressure. I laugh sometimes when I hear the two guests question themselves or question woo woo spirituality. good stuff all around, good to have in an arsenal of peace.

Historia
Harry Potter has never even heard of Hogwarts when the letters start dropping on the doormat at number four, Privet Drive. Addressed in green ink on yellowish parchment with a purple seal, they are swiftly confiscated by his grisly aunt and uncle. Then, on Harry's eleventh birthday, a great beetle-eyed giant of a man called Rubeus Hagrid bursts in with some astonishing news: Harry Potter is a wizard, and he has a place at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. An incredible adventure is about to begin!

Historia
This story is told through the jagged peephole of the author's awareness, examining her formative wounds and influences from the perspective of a woman who has now gained experience and wisdom. As she peers over her soul's shoulder, she recalls the chaos of her once-fragile childhood mind. She shudders as she is reminded of the sting of her lonely childhood, her feelings of abandonment, and her painful memories of being bullied.

Great read for times of relationship conflict
Revisado: 02-28-20
I watched many of Lisa Romano's videos and meditations on YouTube, then I got The Road Back to Me. She writes and speaks in a way I cant ignore. I was never suicidal, I wondered silently for a long time what feelings and relationships put my suicidal family and friends in the position to consider suicide. I thank Lisa for shedding light on exactly how lifelong shame and pain formed, how each time she innocently reached out for love, her heart was mangled along with any thoughts and feelings for her own well-being. When this happens to people it's not a simple matter of rejection happens, move on. There are dangerously predatory people and dangerously ignorant people who can break down an innocent person's sense of self. This is not an enjoyable read by any stretch. It is an important read and it compels self-reflection. I called my parents a few times this week after finishing the audio book. I recommend all of Lisa's written work, and I'll probably keep re-watching, re-reading, and re-listening to her.

A fresh and heartfelt read!
Revisado: 10-23-19
I'm no athlete or sports fan, but I listened to Shoe Dog on Audible twice. Phil Knight describes key events in his life in a way that I can enjoy repeatedly and remember, it's simply great storytelling. Readers are treated to scenes of Phil's travels all around the world. Throughout the book, you discover the heart in all of his surprising relationships with family, colleagues, business competitors, world champions/record-breakers/Olympians, and Japanese businessmen. Nike as a business gets attacked many times but persists to be victorious, like the spirit of this book.
