Historia
I didn't want to be worshiped like some deity—an instant replacement for the asuras. For so long, these people looked up to the asuras as gods, but the asuras kept trying to kill them. Arthur Leywin has finally returned to the continent of Dicathen, but his home is still firmly in the hands of the enemy. His display of unprecedented power brings hope to his allies and fear to his enemies. It also deeply embroils him in a conflict between the godlike asuras, with Agrona Vritra on one side and Kezess Indrath on the other.

Just why?!?
Revisado: 08-20-24
Why would you add a second narrator 10 books in? I just do not understand...Also, why not have her just stick to the female characters if you were going to split it up? She totally destroys all the work that Travis Baldree put in on creating these characters voices, did she even listen to the other books to have an understanding of what they sound like, or did she just dive into the recording? I was extremely disappointed in how this book turned out
TurtleMe, please for the love of god figure this out before you put out another book in this series or I might just have to bail on Aurthur/Grey all together.

When Hal Emden hears about a contest that offers winners the chance to test the newest game from his favorite designer on a cutting-edge, unprecedented virtual reality system, he has to try his luck. Surprisingly, he wins. A full week, all expenses paid, to play the fully immersive game Tides of Magic Online. What could possibly go wrong? I mean, it's not like Elwin, the creator of the game and series, is an insane psychopath intent on trapping them in his virtual world for purposes unknown...right?

OP'd to the MAX!!
Revisado: 12-28-20
I don’t think I have ever read a book where everything just magically falls into the lead characters laps. I mean the book takes place over the course of a few years and Hal the leader only faces death once and even then he is saved?
Also, he basically turns all of his buddies into walking gods themselves. It is amazing to see how OP’d these guys got, to where after a few years they are ready to take on a demi-god and his army that numbers in the millions.
I would have rather read the story line on the party of players that got teamed wiped, probably would have been more entertaining.

Stats, Stats and more Stats
Revisado: 06-15-20
Look I understand that stretching out series is how writers will try to make more money off of a popular series, but in most cases they add a new side quest or character to the story. It’s almost like you are taking a break from the main story line only to come back to it later. Kong isn’t even trying to do that. He is just filling up the chapters with stats. I mean come on, Richter made it 21 chapters, that is half the book by the way, before he even fished reading all of his prompts from the battle at the end of book 7. Kong is the self-proclaimed, “Father of American LITRPG” can’t he come up with a better system when referring to a character stats or just skip to the stats that were upgraded. He is to high of a level and there is to much going on for you to go over everyone’s stats every single time they get a headache. Dude, you can run with this series for forever, stop trying to cheat us on the story line now.
This book did nothing for me. Richter has soooo many story arcs that he has not even went back to touch on and he left the guy in a cave for an entire book, that might spill into the next book. If this is what we can expect for the rest of the series, then I am out.
As always peace, love and ¾ of the book will be listing off stats!

Swing and a MISS for me!
Revisado: 08-05-19
I am not a fan of books where the main character spends 98% of it in their own head. The book was around 12 hours long and the character spent 11 hours in her own head rambling. Also, what was the deal with the love story? Even though it was a bit cliché (super rich guys falls for the poor girl who is struggling), I would have been on board if she would have explained why he fell for her? What was it about her that he found attractive, even though he could basically have anyone else in the world?
The premise of the book was a good one but Lu wrote it in a way where everything was so predictable. Maybe I am overthinking it but I will not be purchasing the next book. Hopefully, for the people who will continue the series there will be more interaction of characters and you will actually get to meet a few other characters rather than a brief description. Good luck and Godspeed!

Historia
My name is Opal Yong-ae, and I’m a Cleaner. At least, I used to be. Thanks to the supernatural bad luck that turns everything I do against me, these days I’m more of a walking disaster. Getting rid of this curse is the only way to get my life back. Unfortunately, dragon magic is every bit as sneaky and deadly as the monsters behind it, and just as hard to beat.

Could have been over with a simple family meeting!
Revisado: 07-19-19
Sooooo it’s basically the same story with a few little twist along the way. She hates her dad and wants to be done with him but she is not willing to take a better job (that she could probably get with her degree) to pay him off. So, she teams up with Nick the loaner with the dark back story to keep cleaning houses, with little to no profit margin, to come up with the cash. Meanwhile, her stubborn dad is unwilling to admit that he loves and cares for her and only wants to see her well taken care of. Just a repeat with a few new characters thrown in.
Here are a few issues that I have with the book:
- She stays in her head almost the entire book. I mean it is an 11 hour audio book and there might be an hour’s worth of actual dialog.
- She seems like a silly child to me. She is willing to do anything to get free. This includes back ally shoot outs, crashing the “stock market” and possibly creating the next depression, running away and ditching everything she knows including the cleaning job that she loves so much and finally letting her father wither to nothing. All instead of having an adult conversation about how they can compromise.
- I think the father would probably let her stay in the DFZ if she would just get a better job. He just does not want to see his kid slumming it, which I can totally get.
I don’t know, I just thought that she was killing herself for no reason and talking trash about a family that was just trying to give her the best of everything. Spoiled rich girl throwing a hissy!

Historia
On the march, around the campfire, and in the taverns, they tell incredible stories about Tarmun Vykers, the Reaper - how he's never been cut in battle, how he once defeated hundreds of men by himself, how he exterminated an entire people over an insult. These stories make Vykers seem like a god, but he is a man, an arrogant, ruthless, and bloodthirsty man. For all that, he may be the only thing standing between the human race and utter annihilation at the hands of the mad wizard who calls himself the End-of-All-Things.

Not for most!
Revisado: 06-14-19
Story Line:
I have read many titles where some of the back story, religion, lore and powers were glances upon to save reveals for deeper into the story but come on! You can’t just throw events into the book that makes no sense with no explanation at all. OK, you do not want to go into detail on why Vykers is so quick and powerful or why he has the need to destroy. Fine, but don’t throw in an immaculate conception Satyr birth and not give me more detail. Maybe he did give more of a breakdown on that and why there were talking animals around but I stopped right after they called her “Mother Sister,” to West Virginian for me.
He had the makings of some cool characters but his story line was something that must have come to him while on a bad mushroom trip.
Also, never compare this to Malazan Book of the Fallen again!
Narrator:
I feel as if I have voiced my opinion of the book fairly well so now I will quickly comment on the narrator.
He made every character (almost) sound like they were shy and timid. As if they were unsure of themselves while in an everyday conversation.
Also, grab a mouse that doesn’t click so loud. I could tell every time you were changing pages.
I will admit that you made me laugh a few times when you either lost your spot on the page or the pages were not loading fast enough and there was dead air space. I almost choked on a French fry one time when it lasted for 6-7 seconds.
Thanks but no Thanks
