Historia
In August of 1914, the British ship Endurance set sail for the South Atlantic. In October 1915, still half a continent away from its intended base, the ship was trapped, then crushed in the ice. For five months, Sir Ernest Shackleton and his men, drifting on ice packs, were castaways in one of the most savage regions of the world. Lansing describes how the men survived a 1,000-mile voyage in an open boat across the stormiest ocean on the globe and an overland trek through forbidding glaciers and mountains.

Incredible
Revisado: 09-09-23
Incredible story. Well written and very well performed! This set the bar pretty high for non fiction audio books!

Historia
Alfred Armiger was like a bull in the ring, belligerent and sure of himself. But Armiger was mortal after all. There was no stronger proof of it than the blood that oozed from his skull, mingling with the red wine he'd spilled on the floor at the moment of impact.

Engaging and smartly written! Peters has a way of capturing her characters’ introspective moments. It really helps immerse you into the world she has created. The narration is top notch!

Historia
Yarvi, second son of the feared King Uthrik and the ruthless Queen Laithlin of Gettland, was born with a useless hand, and cannot hold a shield, or do any of the things expected from a man. Left an outcast, he's surrendered his birthright and been given a woman's place as apprentice to Mother Gundring, Gettland's Minister, training to be an adviser, diplomat, healer and translator. But when his father and brother are murdered by Grom-gil-Gorm, King of neighboring Vansterland, Yarvi is forced to take the Black Chair and become king himself.

Not great for adults or young adults
Revisado: 09-20-18
The story and characters were oversimplified (possibly with a nod to Norse epics?) to a point where emotionally this story was bizarre. Adult themes coupled with simplified, pre- teen emotions made it at times, cringeworthy and at other times downright strange. There were flickers of character complexity, but those were fleeting. Disappointed.
