James Cook hit a home run with this one. The story is about the characters not the Zombies. The two main characters are well developed and totally enjoyable. I thought Guy William's voice was not the right one for the book but I was way wrong. Guys voice perfectly portrays Eric's smart ass attitude.

Sigma Does it Again

I wish I could bounce back like the sigma force guys. It is the same every book The guys get beat up in every chapter of the book. In this book Cotton gets shot, stabbed , blown up and beat to a pulp, not only does he not die but he pulls a McGuyver to win the day. Even though it is the same stuff every book, I still love and read everyone. I would say authors like James Rollins would be running out of believable material but what do I know. Good book worth the read.

Dazed and Confused

I am a huge fan of the Dragonlance series and the offshoots especially when Margaret Weis and/or Tracy Hickman do the writing. Having said that I am very disturbed by this series of books. I read books one and two but I have given up on book 3 because I see no need to read it.

Mina from the war of souls is one of the main characters. She and the God Chemos join together to rule the world. Takhisis was banished in the war of souls and Mina lost her faith in the god. She seemed to then be just this weak girl who could not move forward in life until another god showed her the way. This is not at all how I pictured Mina to be and totally ruined my perception. Chemos God of the dead came along and seduced Mina, promising her a new army that would have enternal life. Thus Vampires are introduced to the Dragonlance series. When I left off Mina was a God that Takhisis tricked into thinking she was human. Chemos and the other Gods were showed to have nothing but petty jealousy's that made the books seem like comedies.

The other main characters were a monk of Majere, a dog, and a Kender. I guess they are supposed to be the good that stops the evil. These three characters never stepped into the hero roles so I cannot figure out why they are even in the book. The series to my had no real story line. It seemed like Margaret was creating a large cloud that had everything and nothing. I saw no reason for the story so I found it hard to follow.

I thought the series was the work of a first time writer not the senior writer I know Margaret to be. I think this series should be scrapped and a new series should be written for Mina.

PERFECT!!!!

First of all thank you Brandon Sanderson, without you the series would not have been concluded. The wait is over and the conclusion has come after 25 years. I could be wrong but I do not know of a series that has lasted so long. I know that some have fallen before the end. Most saying that the later books dragged on and on, but it has finally come to its conclusion. The wait was worth it to read this book of perfection. I do not want to give away anything to those who have not read it, but it is probably the greatest single book I have ever read. Those who are like me and have read all of the books, go into this last one with an open mind. Do not bring any conclusions with you because you would not be right any way. I cannot say enough good about the book. Every character saw an ending to their own side plots. Brandon Sanderson even left room for other authors to write about the future exploits of some of the characters.

I hope the pattern is not done with the boys from Emonds Field

I Cannot Wait for Book Three

I finished The Passage and went right into The Twelve. I was expecting to see Peter and his group Kill another of the twelve . Of course then I would have to buckle down and wait for each of the next eleven books. Thank You Justin for apparently not choosing that format.

Justin created a world ruled by vampires, and at the same time ravaged by human hands. In The Passage we learned that people had found the fountian of youth, but also found that it had bad side effects. The U.S. government chose twelve people from death rows around the country. They created the twelve vampires that would end the world as we know it. The Passage ended with the heros killing one of the twelve.

The Twelve started five years after the killing of one of the twelve. Each of the main characters, Peter, Aime, Sarah, Isha, and Micheal had continued on with their lives seperatly from the others. Peter joining the army fighting the virals, Aime taking care Peter's brother's baby Caleb, Micheal becoming an oiler, and Sarah being kidnapped. Each of the members would travel through the story aimed at the same destination, the destruction of the twelve. The stories of the group from beginning to end are fantastic. Each one of the stories had its own character that met new characters and followed its own seperate story. The author was very creative in this way. Not only did he create a whole new world but he also created full stories for his main characters.

The evil character in this book was not even a part of the twelve. He was a normal person that had become more by keeping one of the twelve chained up. He was creating a city that support the twelve in the future. This character in the beginning struggles with the bad things he has done to his own people, but this does not last long.The main characters all meet here at this city for a final confrontation with evil. The fianl battle has many unexpected twists and turns that will keep you guessing.



This a very well written book. I would recommend it to all the zombie lovers out their because it introduces vampires on the level of zombies. Something new for you to read about.

Save Yourself the Time and Watch the Video

I have always believed that the book is always better than the video or in this case the documentary. One of the largest reasons for this is that more information is contained in the book. I have become used to gaining a lot more info in the book. In this book I wanted to find out something new about the murders or murderers. This was not the case for the book. You could Google the same information that is in the book. I was very disappointed in this work.

Loved It

Caleb Carr has created a masterpiece in the Angel of Darkness.The book has just the right amount of humor, suspence, and violence. Normally I like a book that builds the characters, including both their past and present, this book was not like that. Stevie the main character had a lot of character building but the other characters did not. Caleb made each characters past stand out by telling you just enough to get curious. Cillous was the man servant to the good Doctor. All we knew about his past was that it was bad and the Doctor had taken him in. Through out the book Cillous would show his value to the group but not how or where he had learned to do what he did. Caleb was always sure to hint about his past but not give you any real information. Miss Sarah was another of the characters. She was a feminist that could not understand how men could shove women into a box of approved behaviors. The men in one town were so bad that if a women acted differently they would give them demonistic qualities. The little bits and peices Caleb gave of each character was the perfect amount to make the book go.

The mystery was centered around a female that had taken a child. The women had crossed the state killing children using poison. The people of the area would call her a hero for trying to save the kids but all along she was killing them. She had killed her only child brcause the man had left her. She had continued on as she took on new identities.

Finally the book led us to another mystery. I will let each of you decide for yourself, but I think the prosecutor was the father of her only baby. Just saying!!

The Adult Version of Left Behind

John has put out a very good piece of work here. I would not say it was better than Left Behind, but it is at least as good. It has a darker feel and seems to me to be written for adults. I enjoyed this from start to finish and would recommend it to anyone that likes works relating to the Book of Revelations.

I think John has taken several liberties with the Biblical writings and attempts to explain it away through one small passage. In the book there are werwolves, and vampires that hunt God's people. Werewolves and Vampires were never mentioned in the Bible. John takes the position that God had instructed the writer not to record some of what he saw, and it was during this time that the writer observed the monsters. John took a huge leap with the Worlds church. The leader was taken from the priests in the Vatican. The anti christ then turns this priest into a Vampire. This vampire and many others have to feed all of the time during the book. The evil is shone to be present during this portion of the rapture. The Bible states that there will be no outward sign of the evil until after the anti christ has risen from the dead. That is the second really good thing about the book, it leaves room for speculation and debate.

Just For Pleasure

I have to confess that I secretly love last person on Earth books. This book was no exception. It was told from the first person and that was one of the things that made it good. From beginning to end the book was just plain good.

Nick Podehl complimented the book better than any one else I can think of. His voice brought the book alive and you felt what the main character felt. In one place the main character was talking about the loss of his family, and I swear you could hear his voice crack and see the tears rolling. Apocalypse Z was written well and the narration made it even better.

It's Stephen King, Enough Said

I have always been a big believer in the book is better than the movie. I am almost ashamed to say that my oppinion is exactly opposite for Stephen King. The Stand, Needfull Things, and Thinner are some of my all time favorite movies. I did not like the books as much because they too many pages full of description but short on action. In short they became boring. I will even go as far as saying I hated the Dark Tower series, or atleast the one I read.

The Talisman was full of descrption to but I really got a thrill listening to it. I like that the book did not try to hide anything. The characters told you right up front what Jack was going to face. All that was left after that was going from one stop to the next. I really think that Stephen and Peter came up with some interesting stops for the young Jack. One stop featured Jack working in a bar and another had him in a religious school for the boys. Bad things just kept happening to Jack and his travel mates. Jack never gave up and pushed to the place where he could get the Talisman. With the Talisman, Jack would save his ailing mother.

One of the best aspects of the book was that Jack had to deal with two dimensions one his real world and the other called the Territories. Jack picked up Wolf in the Territories. Wolf was my most beloved characters. He acted like a child most of the time. The only change was when the full moon was close. During the full moon wolf transformed into a wolf, hunting, killing, and running. What I found new about the werewolf here than other books is Stephen showed Wolf changing gradually through the lunar cycle. Early in the cycle Wolf took on child like qualities and became a coward. Through out the cycle Wolf would grow gradually from coward to fierce hunter. Wolf started with little extra hair but the hair grew thicker and more abundant, the closer to the full moon Wolf was.

This book was an excellant book to listen to. I hoope these to authors collaberate on another project.
