Historia
The work of queer autistic scholar Nick Walker has played a key role in the evolving discourse on human neurodiversity. Neuroqueer Heresies collects a decade's worth of Dr. Walker's most influential writings, along with new commentary by the author and new material on her radical conceptualization of Neuroqueer Theory. This book is essential for anyone seeking to understand the foundations, terminology, implications, and leading edges of the emerging neurodiversity paradigm.

Historia
Without politics or polemics, this brilliant and witty book overturns centuries of preconceptions to restore women to their rightful place at the center of culture, revolution, empire, war, and peace. Spiced with tales of individual women who have shaped civilization, celebrating the work and lives of women around the world, and distinguished by a wealth of research, Who Cooked the Last Supper? redefines our concept of historical reality.

A lot to take in
Revisado: 12-05-22
As a feminist, I wanted to like this a lot more than I did. It was very informative but at times I also felt like it ignored some things to make its point. As for the narration, I think a lot of the tongue-in-cheek humor could have been brought out more... it was a lot to listen to all of the humor read as biting sarcasm, especially since a the material is heavy stuff on its own. This book made me feel sad. We have come a long way, but we're still so far away. (Also, based on the title I got this thinking it was going to be a collection of researched stories on forgotten women throughout history. It is very much not.)

Good for those newer to self-help
Revisado: 02-02-22
As a hobby reader of self-help type books, I didn't notice any particularly novel or thought-provoking information here, but it was a nice reminder of some things I hadn't thought about or put into practice in a while. I think it'd be a good starting point for someone new to the genre or as a refresher. The book is clear and well organized. My only criticism would be that the author spends the last 2/3 promoting the same practices and principles she seemed to discount in the first third, which was a little confusing. I don't know if the book fulfills the purpose it sets up for itself - definitively teaching how to turn theory/knowledge into consistent action/change - but it's still a useful read. Narrator is engaging and clear.
