Historia
Diviner Alex Verus finally made one too many enemies on the Council of Mages, and now one of them is angry enough to have him executed. Fighting for his life is nothing new, but this kill order also calls for the death of Alex's dependents - and there's no way that he'll let Luna, Anne, and Vari take the heat. With only a week before he's history, Alex will have to figure out how to disassociate himself from his friends, scrounge up allies on the council, and hopefully keep his head attached to his body.

Love the story narrator is okay
Revisado: 12-17-19
I love the stories so far but the narrator is a little slow for my taste. I speed him up to keep it interesting.

Terrible ending to what was a great series
Revisado: 02-15-17
The series started off strong but this ending just felt forced. It was very anti climatic and just seemed like he wanted to cut it off quickly. As I have listened to all these books you can tell just from how short this one was compared to the others.

Story was entertaining but narrator wasn't
Revisado: 06-07-16
I enjoyed the story. It wasn't the best I've heard but entertaining non the less. My only problem was the narrator. His voice just kinda rubbed me the wrong way. The tone of it just came off pompous, and condescending. Kinda like he thought he was smarter than you and it he was explaining something to you that everyone should have already known. Could be just my personal taste though.

Historia
In what is widely hailed as the best of his many novels, Charles Bukowski details the long, lonely years of his own hardscrabble youth in the raw voice of alter ego Henry Chinaski. From a harrowingly cheerless childhood in Germany through acne-riddled high school years, and his adolescent discoveries of alcohol, women, and the Los Angeles Public Library's collection of D. H. Lawrence, Ham on Rye offers a crude, brutal, and savagely funny portrait of an outcast's coming-of-age during the desperate days of the Great Depression.

Revisado: 08-02-15
I loved the book and I enjoyed the narration just wasn't very keen on the voice he'd make for other characters.
