Worst narration i've ever heard
Revisado: 12-29-24
Well, all i can say is, JRR Tolkien and JK Rowling have nothing to worry about. Taylor Marshall should stick to theology rather than try to cobble together a story using concepts and imagery from Lord of the Rings and Harry Potter.
The narrator sounded like he wasn't paying any attention at all to what he was reading; the cadences and tone were completely off. And since when does a saint from Anatolia speak with a Scotts/Irish accent?! The story might have seemed less lame if the narration hadn't been so strange

In Jesus and the Jewish Roots of Mary, Dr. Pitre takes listeners step-by-step from the Garden of Eden to the Book of Revelation to reveal how deeply biblical Catholic beliefs about Mary really are. Dr. Pitre uses the Old Testament and ancient Judaism to unlock how the Bible itself teaches that Mary is in fact the new Eve, the Mother of God, the Queen of Heaven and Earth, and the new Ark of the Covenant.

Historia
One day in 1957, in the third-grade classroom of St. Brigid's parochial school, an exasperated Sister Mary Lurana bent over a restless young William O'Reilly and said, "William, you are a bold, fresh piece of humanity." Little did she know that she was, early in his career as a troublemaker, defining the essence of Bill O'Reilly and providing him with the title of his brash and entertaining issues-based memoir.

What a great book! I listened while shoveling my sidewalks, and my neighbors were no doubt wondering why i was laughing so much! I particularly got a kick out of Bill's and Clem's adventures in elementary school. This book is a real gift. Thanks, Bill!

New Age Drivel
Revisado: 11-04-23
I was hoping to hear an interesting account of an NDE. But when the author started talking about herself and everyone else being God, i wised up.
Unfortunately, i had bought the audible version (which was cheaper than an audible credit) and now can't return the book because i didn't use a credit! What a lame policy!

Historia
Nehemiah, the young son of a Jewish woman, a weaver from Jerusalem, is born and raised among the Jews who didn't return to Jerusalem from the Exile. Educated by Rabbi Kagba, one of the magi present at Jesus' birth thirty years earlier, Nehemiah grows up with the expectation of a soon-coming Messiah. Could the Yeshua of Nazareth, who is walking the earth, reportedly doing miracles, be that Messiah? When young Nehemiah must travel the long caravan road to Jerusalem, he is charged with an unusual mission...

Historia
The average Christian in America does not know what his own religion teaches, nor does he care. He may call himself “Christian”, but he lives his life exactly as he wishes, making no attempt to conform his conduct to the commands and tenets of his religion. Daily Wire writer Matt Walsh confronts his fellow Christians in this bold, clear-eyed book that serves as an urgent reminder of Matthew 7:13 - "For wide is the gate and broad is the road that leads to destruction, and many enter through it."

I've been an SBG member for a few years, but didn't realize Matt was such a great theologian! He makes excellent points in this book.
I was listening to the audible version while doing yardwork, and my neighbors were probably wondering why i was laughing out loud! I had come to Matt's review of the "God is not Dead" movie, and of course, had to watch the movie after hearing his comments. Ha! He nailed it!

Historia
The Diary is an amazing narrative that chronicles the experiences of a simple, uneducated Polish nun who received a special call shortly before the outbreak of World War II. Our Lord appeared to her and instructed her to spread the message of his Divine Mercy to all, especially in our current age, which is full of so much distress and worldliness. The message of the Divine Mercy is that God loves us all of us. And He wants us to recognize that his mercy is greater than our sins, so that we will call upon him with trust, receive his mercy, and let it flow through us to others.

Historia
David, new shepherd and youngest of eight, doesn’t want to fight. He wants to disappear, to be alone with his sheep. His brothers mock him, his father ignores him, and even the sheep he protects flee him. Yet, he was born for more. Yahweh has called him beyond the fields of little Bethlehem. He has called him to greatness. Saul is king of Israel. Chosen by Yahweh and anointed by Samuel the prophet, he leads the fledgling nation as he defends its borders with shaky hands. Chosen and anointed he may be, but he is also a failure.

Terrible narrator
Revisado: 08-04-23
This might have been a good listen if the narrator had had a modicum of talent. Plus, you hear his wife or somebody in the background, and sirens in the street -- doesn't really fit a biblical setting.
