Great series but Audible have ruined it
Revisado: 05-28-10
This is one of Brian Tracy's best works and is useful from start to finish. It is jammed packed with useful ideas that you can put in to practice straight away, and yes it does work. All the way through Brian Tracy holds your hand and cajoles you with stories and anecdotes that give the subject real meaning and it is a great seminar/audiobook.
Now the downside...The Audible recording cuts off the first 10-15 minutes of each cd/lecture so you always miss out on the introduction and often the first part of any subject which makes the thing unusable.
I would certainly recommend this audio book, just not the Audible version. If you want to get the best out of this series then get it directly from Brian Tracy, at least the quality of the recording will match the quality of the content.

Not quite Fast enough!
Revisado: 12-30-09
I must admit that I am a great fan of The Fast Show and was very disappointed by this offering. Like many TV-to-Audio transfers this suffers from the fact that much of the humor in the show has a considerable visual element, which is totally lost in the audio version.
If you are a fan, then this audio is likely to appeal as it has all of the characters. However if you are coming to this for the first time, then I would steer clear.
This is full of British humor which often doesn't translate well, and without the visual cues much of what makes the characters pop is missing. The laugh track helps, but without seeing what is going on the comedy is left floundering.
If you really want an introduction to the show, or you are a fan who needs a fix, get the show on video, or look out for it as a re-run. This just doesn't cut it, and could put you off a real comedy gem for life.

Good but not great
Revisado: 12-30-09
As with any series of this nature there are going to be highlights and lowlights, and to date this series has been excellent, however of the three episodes published to date, this is perhaps the weakest of the three.
The characters (and possibly the actors) are still coming in to their own, and the rivalries that exist within the crew are all there, it is just starting to feel a little weak in some places.
Not to give any of the story away, but the 'baddies' of the show are rather one dimensional, and the back-story is weak. Yes, this is a retelling of an old TV series, and that would give the author and the cast some room to play, and yet the opportunities are missed.
I have no doubt that there will be future episodes, and the background histories will come to light (or perhaps you need to listen to the prequals) but the speed of each episode means that the secondary characters come across unformed, and this makes them seem one dimensional.
The actors and audio effects cannot be faulted, and the listener is left with a real sense of the action as it unfolds. If you like this kind of sci-fi story then this is a good listen which is only let down by poor characters.
I hope that this series continues to grow and improve along the way, I just think that they should slow down the narrative to create bigger (and more believable) characters.

Roj Blake is on the run... He has a ship, but the ship has plans of its own. He has a crew, but who are his friends and who are his enemies? Blake thought space meant freedom, but space is cold, cruel and steeped in blood. The power of the federation reaches further and deeper then Blake dared imagine... Freedom is nowhere to be found.

Great audio play...shame about the Audible copy.
Revisado: 12-30-09
Let me start by saying that this audio play is NOT 1:55. The audio completes after about an hour, and then repeats from about 5 minutes in, so you get the odd length.
As for the play itself, an excellent piece of storytelling, and although it is set in the same 'reality' as Blake's 7 with the same characters, that is where the similarity with the original TV series ends.
If you are looking for a re-telling of the TV series with the original cast/stories then you will be sorely disappointed. If however you are looking for a great bit of sci-fi storytelling, with some great characters and sound effects then this is for you.
The story begins where the first audio play left off, and is better if listened to after hearing that one (otherwise it will get confusing as the characters are really introduced in the first play).
Once again a good story, and characters that you can actually believe in, and feel sympathy for (which makes a change from the one dimensional characters usually found in SciFi).
The story moves at a pace, and this has both a good and bad side. On the positive the story is continually moving forward, on the downside the speed doesn't do justice to the characters, nor the voice talents. I feel that this could have been broken down into 2 books, the pace could still have been maintained, and it would have given an opportunity to feel more for the characters.
The actors abilities do come through, and Colin Salmon is a distinctive voice, and plays the sardonic Avon well, and the cast make a great ensemble, and this is a true group work, and it comes across well.
It will be interesting to see how the story progresses, and whether the quality can be maintained. I do hope so.
Overall an excellent piece only marred by the Audibles poor transfer.

Historia
In the third century of the second calendar, the galactic Federation, once a beacon of democracy and peace, has become a corrupt tyranny. Freedom and Justice are things of the past. Roj Blake stood up for the ordinary people. When the establishment tried intimidation, he laughed in their faces; when they tried to crush him, he fought back. They tried to brainwash him into obedience, but he broke their conditioning.

An excellent re-imagining of an old favourite.
Revisado: 12-30-09
I remember the original TV series from my youth, and felt it a great pity when it ended, but I do not wish to bring the old series back to life, especially when re-tellings of this quality come along.
This audio play is a dramatic re-telling of how the Roj Blake became a fugitive and obtained the Liberator, and I must admit that I approached it with an open mind, and was not disappointed. Although I know the story well, there is enough new material in this version to keep ones interest, and to add some new dimensions.
The audio is a clean and clear, and the actors portray their characters with depth and humanity, and the audio effects add to to overall ambience of the piece.
If you are looking for a good radio play (and are not looking for a verbatim copy of the TV program) then you can't go far wrong with this. An excellent piece of audio drama which is entertaining throughout.

I was expecting more from thiss audiobook but found that it contained a great deal of material from other sources and it lacked originality. The material is presented in an easy to digest manner with many examples, however I believe that the print version would be more appropriate as many of the exercises benefit from a step out (not a failing just with this book but a problem with many 'hands on' type audio books).
IMHO the exercises are the weakest part of the book and other books actually make a better attempt at enabling individuals to find their passion.
If you've never read any other books on the ssubject then this makess a good introduction although you may come away still looking for your passion.
A good effort but not quite there.

Good but no great revelations
Revisado: 03-22-05
As a great fan of Jack Canfield I had high expectations for this program and was not disappointed. The program covers all of the basic goal setting techniques, visualisation, affirmations etc.
I must admit I was expecting more and for anyone who has heard Jack's other books or seen his seminars then there is little new here, the same applies for anyone who has listened to Tony Robbins.
The same anecdotes (Sly Stallone, Sleepless in Seattle etc) do get a little tiring once you've heard them for the 6th or 7th time but they are still good stories.
Overall a good book and well worth a listen if you are relatively new to the genre old hands may find that the information acts as a good reminder to the basics.
One comment on the delivery, there are occasions when it feels like Jack is going through the motions rather than the emotions and it comes across a little dry and over worn in places. Not up to his usual energised self.
