Historia
If it weren’t for Emma Johnson, Caryn Johnson would have never become Whoopi Goldberg. Emma gave her children the loving care and wisdom they needed to succeed in life, always encouraging them to be true to themselves. When Whoopi lost her mother in 2010—and then her older brother, Clyde, five years later—she felt deeply alone; the only people who truly knew her were gone. Emma raised her children not just to survive, but to thrive. In this intimate and heartfelt memoir, Whoopi shares many of the deeply personal stories of their lives together for the first time.

Historia
When I lost my Titan brothers in the crash, it was a mixed bag of emotions. I was devastated and grief stricken, but I was also grateful to be alive. Yeah, that might cause a little—okay, a lot of—guilt, but now I’m determined to live each day as if it’s my last. A night out with friends puts me in the crosshairs of Stevie Kisner—the devastatingly beautiful bar owner with a sharp tongue and a fire in her eyes that lets me know she has zero tolerance for guys like me.

Historia
There are three things that are certain in this life: death, taxes, and the fact that if I want something, I will get it...no matter what it takes. From the moment I laid eyes on Olivia Cooper, I knew she was mine. She didn’t agree, but I wasn’t going to let that stop me. She was all I thought about. She was my obsession. So, I watched. I studied. I toyed with her and I played my games. In her I’d found my perfect match, because she met every single one of my challenges with one of her own. She fought back and I loved it.

A battle of wills....
Revisado: 08-07-22
At first, I wasn't feeling this listen, but as the story unfolded, it redeemed itself. Adam sees Olivia and he sees his match. She is the one. He knows it, but she doesn't. Stalker stories generally make me cringe, but this one was a bit milder than what I'm used to. Don't get me wrong, Adam is a true Alpha stalker, but because Olivia was such an Alpha Female, it balanced well. Some of the reviews said the characters lacked chemistry. I beg to differ. As a blogger turned author, I've known for a long time that for certain books, you have to read beyond the surface and put yourself in the story. Once she said yes, the chemistry took flight and stayed on a plain that soared over and over again. She was the beauty to his beast and he loved being tamed by her. This was a battle of wills. A man who goes after what he wants and a woman who makes him work for it. There were moments that Olivia worked my nerves, but I love that. I love when a book makes me feel different emotions...even annoyance. I do hope the next book in this standalone series comes to Audible. The narrators were amazing and brought these characters to life. Overall great read/listen.

True enemies to lovers...
Revisado: 03-28-22
This was my first Lauren Layne novel and I have to say that I was pleasantly surprised. Matt and Sabrina were each other's right kind of wrong. Their chemistry was scorching, and I loved Sabrina's strength. She was vulnerable at times, but she held her own. Matt was somewhat exasperating which is why I'm giving this a 4 1/2 Stars. It was a bit much, but understandable considering the plot. The Wolf Gala scene made me cry, which was a bonus. I love a story that will draw out my emotions. The narrators brought life to this story, which was another bonus. They are two of my favorites! I'm looking forward to the other books in this trilogy and I'm sure Lauren Layne has gained a new fan.

This won't be my last Lexi Blake listen!
Revisado: 03-19-22
This was my first Lexi Blake book. A fellow reader recommended it and I have to say, this was very enjoyable. I loved how Lexi didn't shy away from a handicapable character. Noelle was a strong alpha female, sometimes too strong. However, it worked in this story. She knew when she needed Hutch to be in charge. The chemistry was simply electric, and these two had an attraction that was pure magic. I loved Hutch's vulnerability. It was refreshing to listen to a story with a true Alpha who was also in his feelings. The storyline was solid, and the suspense was heart-pounding. I'm looking forward to the other books in this series. Overall, an amazing read.

After a shoulder injury put my NHL career on ice, I resigned myself to the fact I’d never see my way out of the minor league again. As my career faded, my estranged brother’s star shot into orbit as the first-line left winger for the Pittsburgh Titans. But when the team’s plane crashed returning home one night, his light was snuffed out, and I was given the opportunity of a lifetime. Now I’m in Pittsburgh, playing for the Titans, and face-to-face with my dead brother’s ghost at every turn.

Gut wrenchingly beautiful!
Revisado: 03-05-22
Anyone who knows me knows that Sawyer Bennett is my Unicorn Author. I did not want the Arizona Vengeance Series to end, just like I didn't want the Cold Fury Series to end. The characters are just so amazing that I felt like I knew them personally. Now we have the Pittsburg Titans and once again, I'm caught up in the world of hockey, swimming with lots of drama, angst, and steamy scenes that brought the heat. Stone is a man who came to the Titans organization because of a tragedy. Every emotion he felt, I felt. Sometimes I wanted to throttle him, but then I wanted to kiss him, hold him, and tell him that everything would be okay. Harlow was the right woman with the strength to handle Stone's alpha and she was not one to take to task and not give it right back to you. Throw in a huge Bernese Mountain dog named Odin and you have a story filled with love, redemption, lots of forgiving moments, and laughter. I loved these two together. It's hard to write a review for Sawyer without giving away spoilers. I will say that I cried, I laughed, I was angry and irritated. A plethora of emotions offered the right balance to an amazing story. I'm looking forward to the next story in this series and can't wait to burrow myself in the world of the Pittsburg Titans. Let me add, Ava and Jason were the perfect narrators to bring this story to life. Such depth and emotion in every word made me listen on pins and needles. Simply brilliant.

Gut wrenching, yet beautiful!
Revisado: 02-13-22
I had to take a couple of days to write my review because this book gutted me. I listened on Audible and the characters were brought to life in a way that I was able to feel every emotion. The good, the bad, and the ugly…I was not spared. I’m not one to shy away from triggers, but honestly, I almost stopped listening at the beginning because what happened is a trigger for me. When a story grips me, it’s hard to let go even when my past slaps me in the face. Cora and Dean were meant to be. They say opposites attract, well these two were total opposites, but their chemistry was electric. I believe that Cora used her irritation to keep Dean at a distance. When push came to shove, they pulled on each other for support and although Cora suffered the most, Dean’s inability to help her set off a tsunami of feelings that they couldn’t ignore. They had to face the demons they tried to keep in the depths of hell. You can’t help who you’re drawn too, but at what cost?
I loved how the Author wrote this in layers that were pulled back in each scene. Cora’s reactions reminded me of what I went through and I was emotionally exhausted at times during this read. I laughed, I cried like a baby, I was angry, I was sad…just a myriad of emotions that I didn’t want control over. Your mind has to be open where you create a space to receive and understand what this story is about. This was a story of love, redemption, forgiveness, and survival. How an event affects those who love you and can’t understand what you went through. One day you’re feeling good and the next you want to disappear into an abyss. I’ve added another book of Jennifer’s to my Audible library. She’s the type of author that I love. One who digs deep and scoops out the filth and molds it into a tangible, gut-wrenching story. One that is believable because things like this happen. When you’re left to pick up the pieces and try to find a new normal. If I could give this 100 Stars, I would

The first time I met Hudson Rothschild was at a wedding. I’d received an unexpected invitation to one of the swankiest venues in the city. Hudson was a groomsman and quite possibly the most gorgeous man I’d ever laid eyes on. He asked me to dance, and our chemistry was off the charts. I knew it wasn’t a good idea to get involved with him, considering the wedding I was at. But our connection was intense, and I was having a great time. Though the fun came to a screeching halt when Hudson figured out I wasn’t who I’d said I was.

Just needed a tad more
Revisado: 02-02-22
Listening to my two favorite narrators bring this story to life was amazing. Stella and Hudson meet at his sister’s wedding under false pretenses. Soon they find themselves working together and having an obvious attraction. My issue is in the beginning, Hudson acted immature and juvenile even after Stella apologized for what she had done. When he finally got over it, the slow burn was way too slow. It made the story drag a little with, for me, we’re unnecessary “filler” scenes. The sexual tension was there, but when they finally did the deed, it faded to black. That was a major let down for me. Fast forward to the dramatic pause where all hell breaks loose and my sun was shining again. The drama was magnificent, my only issue was it felt unfinished. There were questions and situations that needed resolving. I loved Charlie’s character and Fisher is the fabulous Bestie that every woman needs. Overall the story was great, I just needed a bit more to tie up some loose ends.
