Roxane Gay and I cannot be more different, in our childhoods, race, sexuality, culture. Yet, this story speaks my truths as I never heard them exposed. I am profoundly grateful that she has given her gift, along with her pain and vulnerability, to people like me who believe in their worthlessness. She has lifted my heart and my ability to express those things that shame and frighten me. Share with anyone who struggles with an "unruly body" and those who love them.
