Historia
At Campathon, an annual eco-friendly festival held on a farm outside of Portland, fans celebrate the Pacific Northwest's music scene in quintessential PDX style-with gourmet food carts, reusable utensils . . . and lots of coffee. How else to get through three days of nonstop entertainment? Sage has scored a coveted place for her Ground Rules coffee cart thanks to her new-ish boyfriend, Bax, who's friendly with Maya, one of the musicians performing.

Meh
Revisado: 11-15-24
The story was ok. The second murder was a little unnecessary (and heartbreaking). I’d have preferred some form of incapacitation with a full recovery. Ultimately, the story is decent but unremarkable.
As a side note, the main character’s unfounded insecurity in her relationship grated, and I got really tired of hearing “AKA” after the tenth or twentieth time, especially since half the time, it was used incorrectly.

Historia
Cooking aficionado turned amateur detective Sadie Hoffmiller tries to solve the murder of her beautiful young neighbor - a single mother who was mysteriously lured from her home while a lemon tart was baking in her oven. At the heart of Sadie’s search is the woman’s missing two-year-old child. Whoever took the child must be the murderer, but Sadie is certain that the police are looking at all the wrong suspects - including her!

Too Breathy, Main Character Not to my Taste
Revisado: 10-08-24
I didn’t mind the narrator’s breathiness when I listened to the sample, but it started to grate pretty quickly.
The main character is a lot to take. She goes out of her way to proclaim that she doesn’t hold with Neil Simon’s antiwar stance (because she’s a patriot) to a detective she’s just met, whom she knows is investigating her neighbor’s murder. She also uses phrases like “Churchgoing man.” To each their own, but it’s not my thing.

Historia
Carrie Singleton is just about done with Clover Ridge, Connecticut until she is offered a job as the head of programs and events at the spooky local library, complete with its own librarian ghost. Her first major event is a program presented by a retired homicide detective, Al Buckley, who claims he knows who murdered Laura Foster, a much-loved part-time library aide who was bludgeoned to death 15 years earlier. As he invites members of the audience to share stories about Laura, he suddenly keels over and dies.

Main Character is Vindictive
Revisado: 12-28-23
I stopped after a few chapters. The main character sent a threat to her coworker after the coworker messed with her. She exhibits lots of childish behavior and it makes her unlikeable.
