Historia
The Alchemy of Loss is Abigail Carter's moving story of answering that unimaginable question. Veering away from the trite and pat grief books, which offer one-size-fits-all solutions to this most deeply personal and unique experience, she realizes that each person must forge her own path through grief, and that there are no right answers

What a journey
Revisado: 12-09-22
I was riveted. I cried, I smiled, and learned so much. After getting hooked on YouTube watching Abby begin working on her Chateau in France, I was intrigued. Even though this book is from a few years ago, that last part about the house with the rooms having wild colors reminded me of the interesting colors of the rooms at the Chateau. I am so sorry for the loss of such a loving, fun, wonderful husband-father-son. Abby is an inspiration to find your inner strength at your own pace without giving up on yourself. Abby - Thank you for sharing your journey through that part of your life.

Historia
If it’s navel-gazing you’re after, you’ve come to the wrong place; ditto treacly self-examination. Rather, his observations turn outward: a fight between two men on a bus, a fight between two men on the street, pedestrians being whacked over the head or gathering to watch as a man considers leaping to his death. There’s a dirty joke shared at a book signing, then a dirtier one told at a dinner party - lots of jokes here. Plenty of laughs.

I Love both narrators. :)

If anyone was to narrate other than David himself, I am glad it’s Tracey. I’m also grateful for over 17 hours of stories. I love all of it. So good.

Historia
Jaime Primak Sullivan, a Jersey-bred, tough-as-nails PR maven - and unlikely transplant in an upscale suburb of Birmingham, Alabama - has spent her entire life crossing the line: whether she's pushing the boundaries of what proper Southern ladies consider to be "polite behavior" or literally traversing the Mason-Dixon line in the name of love. She isn't afraid to say what everyone is thinking when it comes to love, sex, friendship, and many other topics that are all too often sugar-coated in polite Southern company.

Revisado: 05-09-20
Lovely, personal story of Jaime, read by Jaime. It had all the feels. I dared to listen while settling in to sleep one night (whilst binge-listening), and burst out laughing at one of her stories...thus startling the crap out of my poor hubs!!! Her wonderful personal stories of love, family, friends and acceptance make me feel warm and fuzzy. Love her Cawfeetalk everyday on FB. Keepin it real, 24/7!!! Love ya Jaime!!!

Historia
The Goldfinch is a haunted odyssey through present-day America and a drama of enthralling force and acuity. It begins with a boy. Theo Decker, a 13-year-old New Yorker, miraculously survives an accident that kills his mother. Abandoned by his father, Theo is taken in by the family of a wealthy friend. Bewildered by his strange new home on Park Avenue, disturbed by schoolmates who don't know how to talk to him, and tormented above all by his unbearable longing for his mother, he clings to one thing that reminds him of her: a small, mysteriously captivating painting that ultimately draws Theo into the underworld of art.

Bittersweet and beautiful
Revisado: 09-21-19
Excellent story, excellent reader. I will listen to this against and again. I find myself missing the characters already, just after finishing this audiobook. It really takes you on a journey into how lonely a soul can be, even when surrounded by other people. How loyal a friend can be, and bonds that endure life’s challenges. This is life, this is art. Loved it. I felt each characters emotions through the narrators portrayal.

Thank you for restoring my sanity.

I will re listen to this book a few more times. The reader is wonderful and really very comforting. After the first few chapters, I no longer felt "alone" in my feelings of losing my mind. This book really breaks it down and levels with parents. I have already recommended this book to all of my fellow parents of teens. My family is beginning to communicate better because of this book. Thank you!!!
