Historia
Once upon a time, mean girls primarily existed in high school, while elementary school-aged girls spent hours at play and enjoyed friendships without much drama. But in this fast-paced world in which young girls are exposed to negative behaviors on TV and social media from the moment they enter school, they are also becoming caught up in social hierarchies much earlier. No More Mean Girls is a guide for parents to help their young daughters navigate tricky territories such as friendship building, creating an authentic self, and much more.

bullies in all ages
Revisado: 08-01-24
I didn't realize how young mean girls started. What girls go through at such a young age is both mind boggling and mind opening. The author gave great ideas of how to work through some of these situations. I wish my mom had this kind of help with me. it's a great place to start your journey in understanding and helping your daughter.

Historia
For David Goggins, childhood was a nightmare--poverty, prejudice, and physical abuse colored his days and haunted his nights. But through self-discipline, mental toughness, and hard work, Goggins transformed himself from a depressed, overweight young man with no future into a US Armed Forces icon and one of the world's top endurance athletes. The only man in history to complete elite training as a Navy SEAL, Army Ranger, and Air Force tactical air controller, he went on to set records in numerous endurance events.

We all have the ability to put forth more, the will is lacking. nothing can change unless I change it
Revisado: 07-04-24
As David writes there is nothing ground breaking here but his story has the ability to challenge you to do more for yourself and intern more for others.
At times it was annoying because I felt like he was impossible to please even himself and then the ending came and it tied it all together.
This may not be the book that motivates you. I think it should be the book that tells you it is possible and how bad do you want it? no one is coming to save you from your own toxic habits but you.
I loved it.

Forget hustle harder. Forget a mandatory 5 a.m. wake-up. Forget outlining your life plan in six-month, one-year, and five-year spans. We're living in a cultural shift as we reframe our perspectives around the purpose of work, what work/life balance really means, and how we want to spend our time on this planet. In her first book, Jenna Kutcher—entrepreneur, photographer, influencer, teacher, mom, and host of the wildly popular Goal Digger podcast—shares her philosophy on how to live a life that exists outside the tired cliché of “having it all.”

bummed
Revisado: 07-27-22
For me Jenna was very hard to listen to. Her sharp tone had me feeling like she was trying too hard to get me to believe what she was saying. By chapter 4 I was wanting her to get to the point. I did not listen until the end. This one just wasn't for me.

Historia
In this provocative and inspiring audiobook, David Richo distills 30 years of experience as a therapist to explain the underlying roots of unhappiness - and the surprising secret to finding freedom and fulfillment. There are certain facts of life that we cannot change - the unavoidable "givens" of human existence: (1) everything changes and ends, (2) things do not always go according to plan, (3) life is not always fair, (4) pain is a part of life, and (5) people are not loving and loyal all the time.

Very powerful and enlightening. Tom was hard for me to hear at times so I will have to listen to it again to catch the things I missed.
