The group have retreated to back roads and small towns in order to avoid the worst of the swarms. The undead were changing. Evolving. Acting and reacting together in a kind of hive-mind. They thought it an aberration at first, but after traveling for so many miles and still encountering this upgraded version of the original monster, they have to face an ugly possibility: if the virus was really linking these creatures together, then every last one of them would be coming after the girl who had been plugged into the collective by surviving a bite. They would be coming after Mackenzie.

This series is fantastic! I'm not really a horror person, but the characters and story are so carefully crafted and well developed that I have zero desire to stop listening. and this narrator really knows how to tell a story! If you enjoy real, full characters and a story that grows and develops in clever, satisfying ways, this series is for you!

The second book in the series delivers with more twists, turns, betrayals, secrets, and discoveries! It's so hard to press pause on this story when life intervenes. Yarros doles out the lore with superb timing and keeps us rooting for Violet and Zayden through all their ups and downs. And the narration beautifully delivers, supporting all of the emotional context and bringing so much energy to the combats.

What a complex story hidden within the elegantly approachable packaging of a sweet, simple tale. So much depth of meaning for adults to explore and wild, fun adventure for kids. This is one of the best stories I've ever read/heard. Heyborne's narration is truly top-notch. Don't miss out on this listen!!

This story keeps getting better and better. I can't wait for the next book. The characters draw me in and hook me! And I love this narrator! His character voices are clear and he really understands pacing. This is an excellent listen!

Ken Stark's compelling zombie tale is still holding my attention even though I am neither a zombie story fan nor an action fan. The story is packed with action and horror but the characters are also beautifully crafted and there is so much heart in this series that I just have to keep following tale of these rag-tag survivors. The narrator has also done a lovely job bringing this story to life.
