Historia
On a night out in a London bar, our accidental medium Tanz meets Einar, a charismatic and sexy Viking travelling for business. He offers Tanz an irresistible proposition: return to Iceland with him for an all-expenses-paid writing retreat and some no-strings-attached fun. Promised a mix of work, play and maybe a bit of romance, Tanz follows her heart (and the voices in her head) off to Iceland on a whim; but when she arrives, she quickly realises that Einar and his charm might not be all they're cracked up to be.

Sooo disappointed.
Revisado: 03-11-25
I lloloved her first and second books. The third one took me about halfway through to really enjoy it, but I did in the end. But this book - this book was sadly, horrible, in my opinion. I forced my way through it but it was just not as light-hearted and just not as interesting as the first and second one. I've actually never written a review, so I feel bad that my first one is a bad review, but I literally am still shocked at how horrible it was, but I actually used a credit, so I made myself finish it. Just really disappointed.

Historia
The old Victorian pier was a thing of beauty until it was allowed to decay. It was where the youth of Oldcliffe-on-Sea would go to hang out. It's also where 21-year-old Sophie Collier disappeared 18 years ago. Francesca Howe, known as Frankie, was Sophie's best friend, and even now she is haunted by the mystery of what happened to her. When Frankie gets a call from Sophie's brother, Daniel, informing her that human remains have been found washed up nearby, she immediately wonders if it could be Sophie.

Shocked at how much I loved this book!
Revisado: 05-06-24
The reviews were good but honestly the whole time I was reading it I couldn't understand why I was being made to feel like I didn't like the main character, when I cared about the main character. I can't give anything away but it just had an ending that I didn't really see coming. There were times when I thought I could see the end, but then it would twist a little more. It just had such a satisfying ending and that's what I want in a book - a real mystery with a bit of fear, and a satisfying ending. Touche.

Just okay More like a 30 minute TV episode
Revisado: 12-04-22
I really struggle to finish this. it wasn't horrible. it was basically just "fine" It was like a 30-minute episode of a TV show. after thinking about it I realized that a lot of my indifference was just from the fact that it didn't seem at all like a "Christmasy" short story. Overall I was just disappointed.

Loved it all, especially the narrator
Revisado: 08-17-21
I was hesitant to read this because I normally read a lot of mystery and detective novels. when it started out though it grabbed my attention almost immediately and it was just a soothing but really interesting story, then also had a bit of a mystery to it. Overall I just loved it. On the side note, I actually discovered it while I was looking for books with this particular narrator.

Somewhere out beyond the edge of the universe there is a library that contains an infinite number of books, each one the story of another reality. One tells the story of your life as it is, along with another book for the other life you could have lived if you had made a different choice at any point in your life. While we all wonder how our lives might have been, what if you had the chance to go to the library and see for yourself? Would any of these other lives truly be better? In The Midnight Library, Nora Seed finds herself faced with this decision.

Absolutely adored this book. I normally stick to detective novels and mystery and police procedural novels. This book just kept my interest from beginning until end and Carey Mulligan did a fantastic job of narration.

Loved it
Revisado: 03-27-21
I thoroughly enjoyed this book. It's the first one in the series so I'm looking forward to reading more of them. I know there are at least 10 more. My only complaint was that I had a bit of trouble differentiating between the voices of the characters. I think a little bit more could have been done by the narrator in that category.

Historia
Retired publisher Susan Ryeland is living the good life. She is running a small hotel on a Greek island with her long-term boyfriend Andreas. It should be everything she's always wanted. But is it? She's exhausted with the responsibilities of making everything work on an island where nothing ever does, and truth be told, she's beginning to miss London. And then the Trehearnes come to stay. The strange story they tell about an unfortunate murder that took place on the same day and in the same hotel in which their daughter was married fascinates Susan and piques her editor's instincts.

Best book of my last 2 years
Revisado: 03-09-21
Absolutely the best book I've listened to in at least two years. the narrator is fantastic and there are two complete separate stories that are read to you although they're all related to one mystery. It eminds me a little bit of a Hercule Poirot and/or Agatha Christie type mystery but it wasn't set that far back. just spectacular.

Revisado: 01-15-21
This is seriously one of the best books I've ever listened to. It was longer than most but the mystery was amazing and the narrator was absolutely the best. I was so excited to find another book by the same author but I don't think he has another one out yet. But I will be looking for another book narrated by the same person.
