I hated this book but loved the movie. It took me forever to finish listening to this book. I really don’t know what irritated me more, Laura constantly calling him “the man in black”or her being so naive about his life.

I guess I will wait for the next movie sequel.

Suspenseful Page-Turner

Wow, I absolutely loved this! It’s not my normal read, I am strictly romance, but it was suggested as a group read and I am so glad I didn’t pass.

It’s a suspenseful story of obsession gone completely wrong. A dark psycho thriller told thru the eyes of the victim, culprits, and the desolated mother left behind.

I was quickly drawn in by the way the author wrote the characters and told the story. There are twists and turns that will keep you enthralled. Plus it has a great epilogue.

Don’t sleep on this must read!

Mental Rambling

Tyler and Scarlette/Maddie......I LOVED Tyler's "mental rambling". He is sad, damaged, sarcastic and very humorous. Maddie is also damaged but she is snarky and cynical. Not as likable......but I don't dislike her, just didn't connect with her.

It didn't take long for me to get into the characters and the story. The writing is great and of course, there is a cliffhanger but I don't mind since almost all of the books in this series is already out. I am so hooked.

Oh and let's the forget the male narrator, Tad Branson/Johnathan McClain, he gave Tyler LIFE!!! He is f*cking awesome. I am looking forward to the rest of the series.

Preacher's story - Lost souls finding love

Past to present storytelling filling in the gaps about Debbie and Preacher's relationship, life with the Club, Eva's birth, and Debbie's disappearance.

We also get Eva dealing with Preacher's illness, learning the truth about her mother, and really seeing her father in a different light. BTW, Deuce and Eva still got it going on. They are and always will be THE BEST couple of the series.

At times the book dragged a little but I knew it would be worth it in the end. This story is emotional, beautiful, heartbreaking, and sad. By the time I got to the end of this book, I swear I was feeling like I knew Preacher personally. Great ending with closure we don't get in every series.

After reading that, I thought of the movie The Breakfast Club, then low and behold the author made a reference to the movie. Awwww, I LOVED The Breakfast Club.

Not that this book about high school kids but they do play a big part. Confused? Sorry I'll try to clear it up.

Garrett and Callie were high school sweethearts. Destined to be together forever, the unexpected happens and they drifted apart. Years later she is back in town to care for her parents. Thrown together, they realize their love didn't die.

This is another great second chance romance. Garrett is definitely book-boyfriend material. I adored Garrett. I found it quite refreshing to read about a couple that KNOWS what they want and there is NO back and forth in the relationship. The sexual tension was off-the-chart HOT.

I chuckled, smiled, laughed, got teary-eyed, and **sighed**.

I.LOVED.THIS.BOOK.

Man of my Dreams

Witty and Sexy.

I loved Violet's character. She is quirky and down-to-earth. I found it humorous how she just rambles on and on. Plus she loves everything British.

I also, LOVE Jennings. He is British, sexy, and a dirty talker. *sigh* (Man of my Dreams)

A good story with chemistry, sex, and a British accent.......who could want more.

The STRUGGLE was REAL

I loved the mystery, adventure, and romance in book 1. It was hard to put down. This book had a totally opposite effect, it was difficult to finish. I even started skipping thru it about midway. The story, the relationship, and Zara's constant nagging was too much. It has lost its luster and I think I am done with the trilogy.

HATE/HATE Relationship

I had a HATE/HATE relationship with this book and Vicious but I could NOT put it down.

Have you ever disliked a character so much that while reading a scene your face is scrunched up so bad that by-passers thought something was wrong with YOU?? No, well I have. This book was nothing I expected but exactly what I needed.

Vicious was a cruel, horrid teenager that grew up into a cruel, horrid man. Yes, he is rich. Yes, he is good-looking. But that is where the good begins and ends with him.

As I continued reading, I thought "there is NO WAY he is going to redeem himself"......short of becoming a priest, giving away all his money and devoting his life to doing only good. I had to know. That's why I kept going. I just HAD to know!

Oh yeah, I forgot to mention Emilia. She's was......likable, in an ordinary kind of way. A simple girl with simple dreams. With her, I just couldn't get over the fact that she endured sooooooooo much flack from him but still claim to "LOVED" him. WHY?! HOW???!!! He constantly referred to her as "Help". And she responded. WTF!!

Clearly, Vicious had issues and Emilia helped (no pun intended) him work through some of those issues, making him a better no changed no slightly different man.

Vicious will NEVER be a book boyfriend for me, but I did enjoy the story and the way the author made you see his vulnerable side and understand what made him the way he was.

Great change of pace read for me. I really was in need of something different and this was it. This is the second book by this author that I have read. Sparrow was the first one and it was HELLA GOOD!!! Me likey LJ Shen....keep it up girl you'll be on my One-Click list in no time.
