Not a good one

This was a miss for me. Her condition was so depressing and as a disabled person, I really don’t want to read about all the restrictions that disability provides. Then they both seem to decide that she doesn’t like working anyway and he prefers a wife who wants to spend all day in bed (with or without him). Also, the premise of this one was ludicrous and every problem was either overlooked or glossed over in 2.5 seconds flat. This was a little too far fetched for me. I’m not sure that even the author enjoyed this story.

I would give this zero stars if I could

Picture this, three friends fall for the same girl. The girl is their best friend who has feelings for all three boys. Not wanting to hurt their friendship she turns each one down for a date. They immediately hate her and bully her horribly until the entire school thinks she is a whore. She is isolated and her life in shambles. Years later she meets up with them at college and they decide she deserves more pain for hurting their delicate male pride. Meanwhile she still doesn’t know why they hate her. I don’t know what reader is turned on by this scenario but it is not me. They are disgusting pigs, not men. Sad that this is considered romance. No wonder we have such an epidemic of depression and bad behavior if we glorify this kind of thing. Yuck, just yuck.

Hard to like the book when you dislike the characters

I made it to chapter ten and it still seems a pale imitation of a Tate James or CM Stunich book. Unfortunately I just could not buy into a main character with terrible taste in men and nothing but a talent for theft and lies in her favor. Her crew is made up of more thieves and male whores. I just don’t get the appeal of a love story with men who are sleeping with every other woman in town. Visions of VD just keep dancing in my head. The story is slow and not compelling enough for eleven chapters. Bummer.

You call this a werewolf book???

There is only 1 werewolf in this story and they don’t appear until the last half hour of this 11 hour book. The romance is luke warm and the story has more plot holes than Swiss cheese. This book definitely does not measure up to the JR Ward of the past. A sincere disappointment from one of my favorite authors. Bummer

Could have been compelling

I guess I just don’t enjoy Katee’s take on erotic romance. The story started out really interesting. With a bit more detail and time, I could have bought into the relationship between the h and H. Unfortunately, this book goes from an interesting premise to pointless and unbelievable sexual relationship in .5 seconds or less. If you are only here for the sex and don’t require a storyline to buy into that relationship, this is the book for you. Unfortunately, I require a bit more before I can really enjoy my smut.

My Guilty pleasure/comfort read

I love 90% of cm stunich’s work and this is a favorite of mine. Ironically I hate the original Alice in Wonderland. However I find this retelling clever and sexy. More times than I can count I have stopped to reread a particularly funny or clever quote. I can’t imagine having such a gift of imagination. If you like your romance a little humorous and dirty, you will live this one. I have read the entire series countless times and I cannot wait for the upcoming Kings spin-off.

Another bad book

I just could not find anything to like about this book. The story has more holes than Swiss cheese. The hero and heroine are both fairly repugnant. They don’t bother resolving very big issues between them but continue to have sex even though she has every reason to hate him and no reason to find him attractive as a person. If you weren't depressed going in, you will be by the end. If you want pointless porn with a dose of depression this is the one for you. I could not finish it. I’m sure everything wraps up with a pretty little bow at the end but it just wasn’t worth reading to get to that point. Bummer.

DNF- this book sucks

Little story line with wildly independent heroine who lacks common sense. The story was not well developed and the characters barely question the oddness of their situation. They do however say the dumbest things including porn worthy lines that made me snort out loud. If I suddenly discovered I have magic, gargoyles live in my new house and want to protect me from the vampires who are killing people I WOULD take a minute to digest that information. I would not take a call and go back to work like nothing really happened. I also would not have sex with a gargoyle that I barely know anything about or go after vampires without help just to prove my independence. I could not stomach this story past the first hour in. What a waste of money.

I would return it if I could

So sorry I wasted a credit on this book. This is the first and last book that I have purchased from this author. I love the MC trope. However, it is poorly executed in this book. There is no sense of brotherhood for the MC members. The enemy is one dimensional. The heroine is blah and she has zero chemistry with the hero. This is a rushed book written according to a formula that works 99% of the time if the author has the writing skills. Unfortunately, she just does not have them(at least not in this example.)
