I enjoyed listening to this audiobook series, which I finished in just over a week. I expected it to continue for at least two or three more books. The ending felt rushed, but it resolved most plot holes and storylines. Overall, I am happy with the experience.

Historia
Have you ever felt like there was something inside of you pushing your actions? A dormant beast, so to speak. I know it sounds crazy. But, that’s the best way I could describe how I’ve felt for a long time. I thought it was normal, some animal part of the human brain that lingered from evolution. But, this is the story of how I learned I wasn’t exactly human, and there was a world underneath our own where all the things that go bump in the night live. And, that my beast was very real indeed.

A pleasant surprise!
Revisado: 04-18-24
I am only at chapter 8 and am looking to see if more volumes are available. I can't wait to see where this story goes.
The narrator reads well and has a voice appropriately grim for the story.
The writing ticks a lot of boxes for me. It is interesting, with seemingly multiple storylines possible.
For a book I randomly picked up I am pleasantly surprised.

Having a lot of fun with this series. I don't get all the references and sayings but that's fine. It's still funny. Though I am getting a little tired of the power explanation portions but there are not that many of them. Can't wait to start book 3.

Historia
For generations, nobles have gathered at a scenic estate once per year to compete. What transpires there is spoken of only in rumors, save for the prizes. Potent, powerful, and precious; the winners are said to receive a gift from magic itself. Reeling after their loss to Kalzidar, the adventurers from Maplebark can only press forward, following advice imparted by the gods. Their divine directions will lead them on a series of twisting paths, branching between old friends and new challenges, before ultimately pointing at a particular estate on a specific evening.

Revisado: 12-15-22
Loved this book. I think that if you are this far into a book series, you already have your mind made up about the book. The narrator does a good job as usual minus a slight change in voices but it's not too bad. I can't wait for the next book.

Revisado: 10-10-22
I had the feeling of “the Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe” from the beginning. But it wasn't that at all. The story gripped me, and the narrators brought it to my mind's eye. I highly recommend this to anyone looking for an adventure in life.

F•ANT•astic
Revisado: 09-10-22
A first-person perspective Lite RPG-based story. I was worried I wouldn't like this as these stories are hit-and-miss. Then I saw Jeff Hayes and Annie Ellicott we're doing the narration. They do an amazing job, as usual. I also worried that this would have similar vibes to a certain murderous Box’s series. Fortunately, this is unique and fun enough that any similarities can be overlooked. If you have the time, I recommend spending the credit!

Worth the listen
Revisado: 11-08-21
I got this and the first book for a road trip. The story is alright. A little predictable in how things will go but not horribly so. There are some stylistic writing choice that I had to get used to specifically the verbalization of sound effects like “boom” for one. A positive though is that for an Isekai there wasn’t a lot of sexuality which I appreciated. Even with my trip over I will probably get the next one in the series.

Historia
When William stumbles through a portal in the middle of Antarctica, he'll suddenly find himself in a world unlike any he's ever known. Now, he's surrounded by monster girls, vicious warlords, and everything in between. Worse, his only weapon is a magical branding iron, which seems to have one skill and one skill only, to overwrite slave brands. Thing is, monster girls seem pretty grateful about being freed from the tyranny of their masters, and with each one he brands, the stronger he becomes.

Made it to the end...
Revisado: 10-11-21
I'm cynical, and an overly perfect story doesn't sit well with me. I enjoy this genre of story, but everything seemed a bit too easy. The protagonist seems to have little hardship and little reason to see him as the hero. And then the gratuitous sex in only a few chapters, we get descriptive anatomy, raging hormones, lust, and more. I mean why a male spider-like creature or monster comment on a Dragonoid female's proportions at all.
It's a shame because I like the basic idea of the story. The narrator does an okay job; the attempt at differing voices was appreciated, the male voices were good, but the female voices were a stretch.
Overall the “book” could have been better, but I listened to the entire thing. As I lost interest, it was difficult to enjoy.
